gamblinmon Posted January 5, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 5, 2018 Does anyone know other than the buffet, what other venues are available on embarkation day. Thanks in advance, we cruise in 5 weeks!
cruzeluver Posted January 5, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 5, 2018 Hoping someone weighs in. Would love to know this as well!
perakcruiser Posted January 5, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 5, 2018 Actually before MSC was very strict on this, they checked the cruise cards on embarking days and did not allow you in the MDR for lunch. But I heard that on the Meraviglia (which has almost every port lots of passengers embarking and disembarking) they are not so strict anymore especially when you are not embarking in Genoa. I did not try, when I went on the ship it was already 14:00 and I was happy with the buffet. MDR and buffet are the only options anyway.

Are you trying to say that the MDR is open for those who are already on the ship but not for guests who are just arriving? That's really not an issue for Seaside, unless they choose to do an MDR lunch for B2B guests. And speciality restaurants could be open.

Anyway for us it is more relaxed to go to the buffet after embarkation than trying to get into the MDR before they close.
jcollin Posted January 17, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 17, 2018 So what are the options for lunch on embarkation day on the Seaside?
relaxatsea Posted January 17, 2018 #8 Share Posted January 17, 2018 On Jan. 6, our Embarkation Day, the only lunch option was the Buffet. Since we got there early, it was not overcrowded and we thought the food was fine. I had some excellent carved roast beef from the far aft station. lcpagejr Posted January 17, 2018 #9 Share Posted January 17, 2018 Based on their dining options (more formal type restaurants)...I would say just the 2 buffets and the buffet on deck 8 will likely close earlier to prepare for the overflow dining seating
Rare BermudaBound2014 Posted January 17, 2018 #10 Share Posted January 17, 2018 On divina only buffet, but if in yc lemuse was open. I imagine it’s the same for seaside since multiple embarkation points don’t exist on the Caribbean itineraries. jcollin Posted January 19, 2018 #11 Share Posted January 19, 2018 If I remember correctly when we were on the Divina last April the sports bar was open for lunch. Does the sports bar or the garage bar serve food? If so anyone know if they will be open for lunch on embarkation day? Thanks

No idea on if it will be open for embarkation lunch.
