If you mean this March, you don’t need a passport for a closed loop cruise from the US but you will need a birth certificate and a valid driver’s license. Well, the OP said cruise is 10/2018 and passports expire March 2019 and April 2019.

grapau27 Posted January 8, 2018 #10 Share Posted January 8, 2018 If you are a European citizen, perhaps you do (guessed from the username) If you are from the UK contact the FCO ( foreign commonwealth office website) but most countries your passport just has to be valid when you return. Some airlines contradict this advice so contact your airline as well to be 100%.

If you not, you need to check with the rules of your country, and the US. If you are not from the USA, it is recommended always to have 6 months available. mollyeilis Posted January 8, 2018 #13 Share Posted January 8, 2018 Who's country? Probably the OP’s? Her username is irishlassie. So if she’s not a US citizen, she’ll have other rules. The “no passport with a closed loop US cruise” thing is for US citizens. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

You don't even need to have a passport at all, as you can go on the cruise with just a BC and DL. The islands you are visiting don't require it, so you would only be using it as your ID for re-entry into the US at the end of the cruise.... and for US citizens a passport doesn't need extra months of validity on it to re-enter the states, it just needs to be valid on the day you return. :)

I won't worry about it then & just wait to renew closer to when they expire. Just don't want any problems as we gave our adult kids this cruise with us for Christmas, so didn't want to have any problems.
