ravenmaniac Posted January 12, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2018 we are looking at flying into Fort Lauderdale for our December Miami Cruise. I’m trying to avoid renting a car for one night. What’s the best way to get to Miami from FL? I’d prefer to spend Saturday night in Miami and just get a hotel shuttle or Uber to the cruise terminal Sunday morning. JohninDC Posted January 12, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2018 Best is a stretch limo with stocked bar! :D Uber from FLL to downtown Miami hotels will be about $35 -- that's what I would use.
CruiserBruce Posted January 12, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2018 Welcome to Cruise Critic! If you look down the board, there are many threads addressing your questions. The usual recommendations are Uber/Lyft or shuttles. However, note that availability goes down and the price of shuttles rises the later in the day you are talking about traveling. Many will stay in FLL, and transfer down the next day.
Sue1260 Posted January 12, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 12, 2018 I'm going from FLL to Miami next month and plan on using SAS transportation. 15 dollars per person I have never used them but have heard a lot of good things about them here on cruise critic. Rare Keith1010 Posted January 13, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 13, 2018 Best does vary. We prefer riding in a vehicle and not a shuttle. So for me I would be looking at private cars such as at http://www.larryslimo.com (Larry Limo), Uber or Lyft. As mentioned there are shuttles if that is what you prefer. daniny Posted January 13, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 13, 2018 We always stay inthe FLL airport area preferable the SpringHill Suites Dania Beach. Then we take Jiffy Jeff Transportation to the Port of Miami for $15pp on a shared ride shuttle transfer. Great customer service and friendly drivers. http://www.gojiffyjeff.com
seafish Posted January 18, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 18, 2018 Checked out Larry's - looks like they do not do port pick-ups e.g.- PEV to POM.
JohninDC Posted January 18, 2018 #8 Share Posted January 18, 2018 You can use UberX (about $35) or UberXL (about $70) to get from PE to POM. I would also check with Holland Limo, South Florida Limo and Go Airport for private transport options.

What’s the best way to get to Miami from FL? I’d prefer to spend Saturday night in Miami and just get a hotel shuttle or Uber to the cruise terminal Sunday morning. Can I suggest staying in Fort Lauderdale instead (Hyatt Place or Embassy Suites) both great location right next to the Harbor Shopping area with a Publix market, shops and a great place to eat called Duffy's. You can then use Uber or any of the private shuttle transportation companies to get to POM the morning of your cruise.
TNcruising02 Posted January 19, 2018 #10 Share Posted January 19, 2018 My husband and I used Uber X to get from FLL to a hotel near the Miami airport on a Friday evening. The total amount billed to my credit card was $47. I also gave the driver a cash tip. Using Uber was very easy. I opened the App from the airport and put in the address of my hotel. I selected the type of ride I needed. The driver's name and a number appeared on my phone. I sent him a message with a description my me, my husband, and our luggage. He was out front in less than five minutes. I am going to use Uber again from the Miami port to FLL. It's cheaper than a taxi and much faster than using a shuttle service.
