Tiggertastic Posted January 26, 2018 #26 Share Posted January 26, 2018 Looking forward to the report. We’re on equinox again this year and looking forward to it. Would you let us know if they put any parties on in sky such as 80s, ABBA or something as they were missing on the reflection. Thanks. 81dollar Posted January 26, 2018 #29 Share Posted January 26, 2018 Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but they just ran the last hot glass show in equinox on the current sailing: End of an era- no more Hot Glass Show https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_fid=24703&share_tid=2591102&url=https%3A%2F%2Fboards%2Ecruisecritic%2Ecom%2Fshowthread%2Ephp%3Ft%3D2591102&share_type=t Nevertheless, I'm sure you'll have a great cruise. clj7181 Posted January 26, 2018 Author #30 Share Posted January 26, 2018 Last night once I discovered the missing watch charger I found a Garmin store down at the outside mall. We stopped at a Mexican restaurant called Oh Mexico - it was pretty good. It feels like vacation once you have that 1st beer! After lunch I found the Garmin store and they didn’t have a charger for my watch since it is a few years and a couple models ago. I had been thinking about upgrading to a new one so pulled the trigger. We walked around the mall for a bit then headed to the beach. Holy wind! I looked it up and it said 25 mph bit some gust were worse, we didn’t last long since it felt like we were getting sand blasted. There was hardly anyone on the beach and I am guessing pretty much all of them were tourist. After getting wind blown - we headed back towards the hotel and checked out the various historical buildings. clj7181 Posted January 26, 2018 Author #32 Share Posted January 26, 2018 When we got back to the hotel about 4:30 PM it took about 20 minutes or so to check in, they were pretty backed up. The hotel has multiple building so we got our bags and headed to our building. The room is decent - nothing special. It works for the one night we are here and it centrally located on 11th and Washington. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
miched Posted January 26, 2018 #33 Share Posted January 26, 2018 We…or should I say I booked the Washington Park Hotel - trying to find a hotel on Miami Beach that looked decent but was expensive was hard - I ended up paying $220 + $25 resort fee. Our rooms weren’t m so we checked our bags and headed to find food Why is it hard to find a decent hotel that is expensive? Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Rushn1 Posted January 27, 2018 #36 Share Posted January 27, 2018 Will be following you post. We are originally from Antioch, IL, now living in Florida. Sailing for the first time on Celebrity Equinox the end of March. Looking forward to your thoughts about Celebrity.
bigbeergut Posted January 27, 2018 #37 Share Posted January 27, 2018 We do the same thing. For our cruise in three weeks, we are flying down on Thursday morning (two days prior) on the first flight out. Primarily because it’s February, and secondarily because we’d like two full days in Miami. Cheers You're probably smarter than I am. I've only been retired abut 18 months and I'm only going to Florida 1 day ahead of time. Looking forward to 2 weeks on the Eclipse. Perhaps Ill learn. clj7181 Posted January 27, 2018 Author #38 Share Posted January 27, 2018 Our 1st night is drawing to a close - looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow then boarding the Equinox! Tonight we headed down to Ocean Drive for some night picture. I didn’t hang out long - that wind was brutal! Here are a couple of the images I got. After taking pictures we headed back to the hotel we went to eat in the restaurant but it looked closed - so we went and asked no realizing it has a speakeasy theme and we had to go through the curtains. Lobby had a fortune teller theme then through the curtains for the bar. This is the best Daiquiri I have ever had - it was pure perfection! Now off to bed - a big day tomorrow! Too bad they are removing it - it was a unique selling feature of the ship - something both entertaining and educational. clj7181 Posted January 27, 2018 Author #45 Share Posted January 27, 2018 We slept in this morning and hung out in the room until 10:15 or so and headed to the lobby to check out. Our Lyft car showed up at 10:30 and we got to terminal G at 10:55. I looked at my phone to take this picture and it was 11:06! After this we headed back to the specialty restaurants to make our ADRs for the trip - they had 30% off the first night. We are doing Tuscan steakhouse tonight. Then we still had time before the 11:30 AM concierge lunch so stopped at ensemble lounge for a drink - here is my rum mule - I may have a few more of these before the trip is over! Mom got the Mojito - it’s her favorite and she said it was great. So my first impressions are I like this ship better than carnival - at least they make a better drink! Here is today’s concierge lunch menu. Time to eat! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
clj7181 Posted January 27, 2018 Author #46 Share Posted January 27, 2018 Lunch - according to my table the salmon was good. I liked the soup and chicken - the pie was decent, not great - but I am a Midwest farm girl who makes a mean pie! It’s 1 and rooms have not been announced yet. Time to go explore. kathynorth Posted January 27, 2018 #49 Share Posted January 27, 2018 I appreciate your posting so much detail info! Can you let us know what the plan is for the space where the Hot Glass Show was? We're very disappointed to see this go and are hoping something entertaining goes here, rather than another pay restaurant.
