DrivesLikeMario Posted February 9, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 9, 2018 Argh! How I wish we got British TV. I could spend a month watching all the interesting programs you have there. And BritBox and Acorn TV are so far behind on all the show series that it's almost worth making a trip there to get caught up!
Thrak Posted February 10, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 10, 2018 I may try to check it out. I can change my VPN to a London IP so it "should" allow me to access the show if I can figure out where to go to get it. Edit: Googled it and the site wouldn't load. Changed my IP to London and it seems to load right up. :)

Thrak Posted February 10, 2018 #6 Share Posted February 10, 2018 What is the show about? The show was an episode of Cruising with Jane McDonald and was about a California Coastal Cruise on Ruby Princess. Mostly about the ports rather than about the ship although a small bit about the ship. I noticed that she covered the California ports but left out Ensenada. I really can't blame her for that. Our cruise is coming up and we were hoping we would be able to see whales from our balcony so this is great news!
billco Posted February 10, 2018 #10 Share Posted February 10, 2018 It's pretty easy to set up a VPN to watch British TV. I use Hola, which is free. I sign into ITV and use the postal code for Buckingham Palace for my location. Just finished watching the latest episode of The Cruise. The Cruise Series 3 - Episode 5 It's turnaround day and Royal Princess is docked in Barcelona. Executive Chef David has too much of one ingredient and a passenger fulfills her husband's dying wish. It works for me also although there aren't that many good English programs to actually watch. :)

My wife used to get ads on Facebook every day regarding pretty much anything I checked out online. Fixing the oven - she got lots of ads for parts. Same with the dryer or pretty much anything I checked out. (Good thing I don't do porn!). With the VPN in place she never gets hassled by the ads. The only downside (so far) is that Netflix doesn't like the VPN.

I noticed Ensenada was left out, I wondered why- maybe not long enough to go on shore? So would it just be a call to include a distant foreign port? I far, far prefer Jane's programmes, than the series filmed by Princess. They are presently doing a Mediterranean series on Royal and they hardly feature the ports, it’s all about the staff on the ship and their problems. I liked that Jane was in a standard balcony cabin on Ruby, rather than the expensive suites on her other cruises. Also that it showed some of the entertainment/activities on board. Has anyone experienced Speed Painting before? No dining room footage though - did she eat on the ship or was it just cocktails all the way? lol Sandra
nomad098 Posted February 10, 2018 #15 Share Posted February 10, 2018 We will be doing this cruise in 7 weeks, we cannot wait:D The show was great to get an insight into the trip. A few on our roll call were there when she was filming. It's a shame she missed out Monterey and Ensenada as these are the two ports we know the least about. I suppose 45 minutes you can not show everything.
