FTTF and Boarding time.

Everyone, including Wedding Parties, Diamond and Platinums, as well as FTTF's and casino fare guests, gets or chooses a check in time slot. However, those with Priority boarding can enter the cruise terminal to check in whenever they arrive, as long as the building is open.

After checkin, the Priorities get seated in the terminal depending on what level they have, and then when the ship is ready for boarding, each priority group will be told when to board.

FTTF's may board after the 1st 3 catergories of weddings, Diamonds and Platinums get on the ship.Enjoy your cruise.

Everyone must choose a check-in time. With FTTF you still have to pick a check-in time, but you can ignore it and be there when the terminal opens and you will still board right after diamond/platinum/wedding parties. (You still have all of the other FTTF benefits also, FTTF isn't just for boarding)

I always pick the latest check-in times to leave the early slots open for those without priority who still want to get there early.

We have FTTF, however we were still assigned a boarding time. Is there a reason for this? Also, we got FTTF before I completed our on-line check in.

FTTF is available to purchase as soon as the Carnival website managers add it to the excursions section. There is no correlation to whether one has started or completed their online check-in.

Carnival is a for-profit business, it would make no sense to require customers to complete their online check-in in order to spend money on excursions.

This. Perfect idea. Only once did someone challenge me on the documents. I carry an old platinum card to assure them we’re ok.

evandbob,

Thank you for that summary. One further question: after boarding on a Casino Premier Fare, ie..not a wedding, diamond or platinum, can you tell me what to expect in terms of what time the room should be ready and what time we should expect to be allowed to access the room?

We have FTTF. What’s a good time to arrive at the terminal?

That depends on how long you want to wait before boarding the ship. We have found that the terminals usually open around 10 AM. If you get there right when they open, you will sit and wait until normally around 11:30-11:45 before they start boarding the ship. Then it's wedding parties, Diamond/Platinum, then you can board with your FTTF. If you don't want to sit and wait, just show up after noon and you should be able to walk right on board.

You can arrive at 10am. Go straight to Priority entrance. You will then be taken to the FTTF waiting area. You don't technically check in since your room keys will be waiting for you at your cabin when you board. Check in are the kiosk people will go to for their keys and they go during their check in time. FTTF people do not go to the kiosk at all. You will not be able to board the ship until after 11:00am. Usually 11:15-11:30

YW. Whenever I had a casino fare, I had boarding at the higher diamond or platinum level and my room was ready as soon as I boarded, I believe because of the higher priority.

What I'm saying is I think that casino fare guests receive priority boarding without the ready cabin. If so, then the usual 1:30 - 2PM cabins open call applies. Someone else may have their actual experience as a casino guest?

As far as priority boarding beginning at 11AM, that time is highly dependent upon the terminal and ship. As a Diamond, I've gotten accustomed to boarding in MIami before noon, and FLL between 1 and 1:30PM.

On another FTTF thread, someone posted pics of long, long lines of guests waiting outside the terminal as justification to purchase FTTF. I'm thinking those waiting in line had later "check in" times and arrived way too early, so that was the reason they were outside waiting, not because they had the next check in time slot.

Lets not forget the suites also: https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1374/~/faster-to-the-fun-%28fttf%29

"A Few Facts on Faster to the Fun

VIFP Diamond and Platinum members and guests traveling in deluxe suite accommodations are the only guests to have access to the Captain’s Lounge at embarkation.

Similar to airlines boarding first class and then elite frequent flyers, etc., we will start boarding with VIFP Diamond and Platinum members, followed by guests traveling in deluxe suite accommodations and then FTTF guests."

Maybe i missed it in the link but there doesn't seem to be a clear distinction on what a deluxe sweet is or isn't. does a junior sweet qualify, ocean suite, havana cabana suite, etc. please forgive my ignorance, my upcoming cruise will be only my second with carnival and this is my first time booking a suite on any cruise line.
