Cafedumonde Posted June 19, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 19, 2018 CCL recently had a booking promo with onboard credit. Of course, we are now ready to book and they are no longer running that promo! Anyone have any insight into when they will have the next one?
bobandsherry Posted June 19, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 19, 2018 Based on past history, just about every week. And based on my experience, room cost is often higher when OBC promo is offered, usually a direct offset, so don't get too caught up in that promo, just look at net costs. Micahs Grandad Posted June 19, 2018 #4 Share Posted June 19, 2018 IMHO their sales are usually anything but
tallnthensome Posted June 19, 2018 #5 Share Posted June 19, 2018 Reduced deposits is all they really have that isn't an actual price hike to give a discount deal.
JayDeeJay Posted June 19, 2018 #6 Share Posted June 19, 2018 We go thru our favorite carnival booking agent who has all the skinny on sales and promo.
Joebucks Posted June 20, 2018 #7 Share Posted June 20, 2018 The sales are random. They definitely happen. It really depends on each booking. They aren't going to lower the price of something on pace to sell out.
riclop Posted June 20, 2018 #8 Share Posted June 20, 2018 They have a new one every couple of days.

Garth2 Posted June 20, 2018 #11 Share Posted June 20, 2018 Carnival "sales" are like trains. As soon as you miss one, another comes along.
Cafedumonde Posted June 20, 2018 Author #12 Share Posted June 20, 2018 Everyone here is right. I forgot about how prices usually go up if they add onboard credit. Unfortunately we are looking at a 7 night, so that new promo won't work! I have it on hold. I will probably put it on hold again to see if another train comes soon, but it is a decent price anyway so we will lock in soon regardless! Thanks
cmukid87 Posted June 20, 2018 #13 Share Posted June 20, 2018 Carnival "sales" are like trains. As soon as you miss one, another comes along. And that train is almost always identical to the previous train. Keep in mind, though, if you book an early saver rate you can always change down the road if a better "sale" pops up. lovelights Posted June 20, 2018 #14 Share Posted June 20, 2018 They have 50% off deposits right now I believe the 50% off deposits are only for short cruises (5 days or shorter), right? Because we're planning on booking a 7 day cruise eventually, and when I did a mock booking, it did not offer a 50% off deposit.

cajunfla Posted June 20, 2018 #16 Share Posted June 20, 2018 Cruise sales are on same level as vehicle and mattress sales. Always another one coming soon.
Rare Saint Greg Posted June 20, 2018 #17 Share Posted June 20, 2018 They have OBC and reduced deposits now for some cruises. They have it for my dream cruise in august..but don't have it for my vista cruise in feb or my glory cruise next aug. Then they do have it for cruises I'm looking at in 2020. mz-s Posted June 20, 2018 #18 Share Posted June 20, 2018 I've never seen a sale that made me think, "Man, I'm glad I waited to book my cruise!" With early saver, you can always get the newer sale price if it's better than what you booked under.
