shipgeeks Posted June 28, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 28, 2018 We keep looking at Seaside cruises, and regularly notice that one can do 7 nights, or two loops to make 14 nights. The odd thing is, the total price is higher for 14 nights than for two continuing 7 night cruises. What's going on? Any disadvantage to just booking two adjacent cruises? hamrag Posted June 28, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 28, 2018 If you can get the same cabin both legs, there is no disadvantage! Also, if you have black voyager status the significant perks are given on both legs.
hakko808 Posted June 29, 2018 #3 Share Posted June 29, 2018 I have noticed that as well. In some cases up to a third cheaper booking as two separate legs. Only disadvantage I could think of is having to switch cabins.
floridian1 Posted June 29, 2018 #4 Share Posted June 29, 2018 Interesting. Do you have to completely disembark and go through the security and check in like normal again?
shukapaw Posted June 29, 2018 #5 Share Posted June 29, 2018 Either way you do it you have to disembark and immediately embark again. (This is a customs thing, not an MSC thing) Book as two separate weeks and you can take advantage of price drops on either week if the price drops. ~Brian
Rare Beamafar Posted June 29, 2018 #6 Share Posted June 29, 2018 Interesting. Do you have to completely disembark and go through the security and check in like normal again? You do the check-in for the second leg while onboard. Guest Services usually handle that and arrange assistance for moving your belongings if you have to change cabins. ready2cruzagain Posted June 29, 2018 #7 Share Posted June 29, 2018 This is something that we found strange also. Our cruises on the Divina in Dec. we booked as 2 different cruises. We were not able to get the same cabins but they are right next to each other. Our 3 cruises on the Seaside next year were booked individually also, way cheaper for some strange reason. On those 3 cruises we were able to get the same cabin for each cruise. I like getting the black status perks on each of the cruises instead of just one if we had booked as a b2b.
