Wordell1 Posted July 6, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 6, 2018 I am booked on a cruise in Jan 2020. I booked as refundable since it is a long way out. I know I can call RC to get price adjustments down but I am wondering whether I can change to a non-refundable rate in the future as it gets a little closer? (assuming it would be cheaper)

joelheather Posted July 6, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 6, 2018 If you had a reduced deposit for the original booking. You may have to pay the full deposit amount upon rebooking. Did you book direct with Royal or did you use a TA? most TA’s charge a booking fee and have cancelation penalties they could levy when you rebook. The TA that we use always wants the full deposit of $500.

If yours does it’s time to find a new TA.
RBKL Posted July 6, 2018 #8 Share Posted July 6, 2018 We were two weeks out from final payment and we just switched form refundable to non-refundable and saved over $200. This close to final payment I felt it was safe.
