Princess offer if your birthday is August 1st

I called Princess today to ask about a possible cruise and got a message that if your birthday is August 1st and you called them, that you could get OBC!!

 

This may be an UK only offer but thought I would post about it 👍

For the princess 50th, hubby and I were each born in 1965, so we got an additional $50 per person OBC. THEN because we cruised on our 50th birthdays (15 day Hawaiian that overlapped both our b-days, 2 weeks apart) we got another $50 EACH.

 

That was our first cruise, I didn't know that it was something special, but I sure enjoyed the $200!

My birthday is Aug 1st. I called Princess and the representative put me on hold for a couple of minutes while she checked her "Promotions List". No Birthday OBC on her list. I am in California.

A recently deceased friend claimed to have been born on February 30th. I didn't believe it until I looked it up, he was born in the Soviet Union in the 1930's.

Oh man..that's also my husband's birth year...and we sailed during their 50th anniversary year. He gets all the luck, but I guess not because I don't keep up with the promotions!

Sounds to me like they gave you some OBC just to get you to book the trip. They probably knew your birthday date already & it was just a few dollars to seal the deal.

The next caller will get the same message for their birthday date. :D

I know the first $50 per person was because of the 1965 birth year, we had to contact our TA to get this OBC (who grumbled about extra work). I *think* the additional $50 per person was because of the 50th anniversary, when we both turned 50 on the cruise (which I'm sure was fairly rare). I could be completely wrong and we ended up with the additional OBC because of something else, but our TA sure didn't give us any discounts or OBC (lesson learned, she did send half a dozen chocolate strawberries, sarcasm).
