Made it to Boston with time to spare, and took off after a small delay waiting for planes to land in front of us.

In the air now with an on-time ETA. See you on the other side of the pond!

See that you landed at LHR at 07.19 am

Welcome to London and have a great Christmas

Thank you for the warm welcome!

After a very pleasant stop in the arrivals lounge in T3, we are on the tube to our hotel. It was much easier to use the older Piccadilly line because we're staying in Covent Garden. So we will have to wait until another time to see the new Elizabeth line.

Sorry, Lois, to hear about the COLD hitting northern Florida.  Today for us in Central Ohio, the good news is that our high will be all of 10F.  But winds are still very high, making the wind chill not too comfortable.  But, we are doing much better than Buffalo and some other northern areas.

Glad that JP and Chris made it safely to London.  Look forward to seeing pix's and reading details from your adventures there.

Have a funny below that is not too much about Christmas, but might bring memories from the "good old days"??  No, that is not my picture from younger days.

THANKS!  Enjoy!  Terry in Ohio

From the London/UK Daily Mail this morning, below was their major headline and graphic.  Does this summarize the crazy weather here now in the USA?

THANKS!  Enjoy!  Terry in Ohio

It implied to me that the Daily Mail might consider us Americans to be living in hell (when "hell freezes over").    Although I am ignorant about UK newspapers, I think I prefer the London Times' coverage of our current awful weather:

The Daily Mail AKA The Daily Whail is only fit for cutting into squares and hanging from a nail in the facility at the end of the garden. I Wouldn’t be too offended by anything they have to say.

Well the weather for our Christmas Day is a mild 30C - 86F. But here in Bangkok it’s a lovely day with very little humidity.

I hope those having extreme weather will get a respite soon.

A Merry Christmas to you all.

Christmas Eve Day in London.

We landed a little past 7AM and hit the Virgin arrivals lounge for some strong coffee and a light breakfast. The kind waiter insisted that we have a glass of champagne. Or three...

Found the Piccadilly line and rode to Covent Garden. A few minutes to the hotel where we dropped off our bags and headed out to explore!

Nice building across from our hotel.

And the Christmas tree in Covent Garden.

Across the Waterloo bridge.

To the Southbank Markets. Festive decorations.

And blue skies!

We strolled to Westminster.

And stopped for the classic shot.

From here we meandered to Trafalgar Square for the Christmas tree there.

Back through the markets at Leicester Square and then returned to Covent Garden. Even the pup was dressed for the season.

We took the tube to Hyde Park for the Winter Wonderland. And stopped in the Bavarian Village for a snack.

Back to Covent Garden for our hotel. Saw a friend on the way.

Our room was ready so time for a shower and a little rest before dinner.
