Navigator of the Sea - Specialty Restaurants

We will be sailing on the Navigator of the Sea... Would you recommend any of the specialty restaurants (Iam gluten free)? Also do they go on sale? Do you have to book prior to sailing?

I really like Izumi and Chops, not sure about gluten free, there also is Giovanni’s and Sabor , normally just first two nights are crowded. Yes many times there is a sale and you can get a package of 3, 4 or 5 nights

Check your Cruise Planner on Royal's website. You may want to consider one of the dining packages which will give you multiple dinners at specialty restaurants for a reduced price.

Giovanni’s quite good, followed by Izumi, Chops is a trailing third. Savor a distant 47th

I would pick Giovanni’s as 48th , used to love it .

I’m gf and frequently buy a pkg. just let the waiter know beforehand that you have dietary issues. If something doesn’t seem right, question it.

Sabor is a Tapas when out of England.

Depends when you are sailing. After the January/February 2019 drydock, Giovannis changes to Jamie's Italian. Not sure if Sabor will stay or not. Izumi might move to it's place.

If it's similar to Mariner (which it very well may be) Izumi will move to Sabor's location to make room for the Suite Lounge in VCL on deck 14. Jamie's seems to be replacing Giovannis on all drydocks. Also important to note that Izumi added hibachi tables on Mariner, so hopefully the same thing on Navigator.
