Ideas for an Amateur Drinker

Recommended Posts

I am a Diamond+ cruiser taking off next week for Norway on the Indepedence of the Seas. I have been told I have 3 drinks loaded on my card for each night between 5 and 8. I know margaritas, pina coladas, cosmopolitans, and that's about it! I'm not a big fan of wines. Can you tell me some fancy, yummy other things to try? Also, should I tip the bartender and if so, how much?

You can order off this menu during the Diamond hours drinks.

Bubbles also included.

As many drinks as you want during these hours within the lounge, or 3 drinks at any bar from the same menus in the same timeframe.

Basic cocktails can be made with these ingredients . Lemon drops seem popular.

I’m a G&T gal myself.

Yes it is customary to tip the waiters. I tip $1.

One thing I can always get in the CL on Grandeur is a chocolate martini. Haven't been able to get it in DL's though. Lemon drops are very popular as are Bailey's over ice and wine, but you'll also see screwdrivers, Gin and Tonic, etc. There's always a few beer drinks but I'm not impressed with their offerings. DH drinks Strongbow cider sometimes. I've had margarita on the rocks a couple of times too. And, we tip every night for each drink and then give an additional amount on the last night too.
