Mahogany Posted August 26, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2018 Does Seabourn still have two shows nightly? I spoke with an entertainer on a recent Regent cruise who says he doesn't like working on Seabourn since he's viewing an almost empty theatre during the second show (I don't know if he gets paid more for two shows). Oceania, Regent and Silversea, I think, all have just one show per night, usually 9:30 or 9:45. If the second show has such low participation, why does Seabourn continue? Tillylovesseabourn Posted August 26, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 26, 2018 I only remember one per night. However, I don't go to them so can't guarantee this.

SLSD Posted August 27, 2018 #10 Share Posted August 27, 2018 We have sailed on both Encore and Ovation and the first show was at 8pm. The show was usually close to an hour long. The main dining room opened at 6pm.
plane7c Posted August 27, 2018 #11 Share Posted August 27, 2018 I was on the Ovation May 26 to June 9, 2018. The Main Dining Room opened at 6:45 p.m. for dinner. I know because I had dinner every evening in the Main Dining Room and I kept copies of all the daily Heralds. All of the first showtimes were 8:45 p.m. and I managed to make all of them, although a few times, when dinner service was slow, I excused myself from the table (I'm a solo traveler and was at a hosted table every evening), hurried up the stairs, and let Handre escort me to a seat. On a Panama Canal cruise a coouokf of years ago second shows were lightly attended most of the time. Some tacky performers complained during their acts, as if complaining to those that had shown up would persuade others to attend.
secoma4 Posted August 28, 2018 #19 Share Posted August 28, 2018 We have sailed on the Encore three times, and on the maiden Ovation extended voyage. We never miss the show, as my husband loves live entertainment. We usually go to the late show after dining on a hosted or shared table, and the theatre is nearly always pretty full, so I assumed that the early show must be less well attended. Occasionally we will go to the early show if we have dined at the Sushi Bar or Earth and Ocean early, and just the two of us.

buchhalm Posted August 28, 2018 #22 Share Posted August 28, 2018 Qest in July had mostly one show only, and quite late at 9.45 or so. Once or twice they had an at 6.30. Way too early and very few in the audience. Real shame
Chairsin Posted August 28, 2018 #23 Share Posted August 28, 2018 I think it is best to make a distinction between the Encore/Ovation class ships and the Odyssey class ships. As I understand it on the larger ships the same show is performed twice in the evening. Whereas on the smaller ships there is a show most evenings at 9:45. And on some evenings at 6:30 there is a different show or a lecture. Sent from my iPad using Forums
rols Posted August 29, 2018 #24 Share Posted August 29, 2018 We boarded the Ovation right after you disembarked plane7C and evidently the schedule changed slightly for the next voyage. And changed it again later. For the past two weeks on Encore the MDR and colonnade open at 1845, TK at 1800, pool grill at 1900 and the evenings there have been shows they’ve been 2045 and 2200. Lectures and talks have most often been at 1800 and most shows and talks have been 45 minutes or a little longer. Going to a talk, then dinner then the early show hasn’t been a problem but we often skip dessert anyway which might mean our meals are a little faster.
