Hypothesis #1:  Princess has been reclassifing non-Club Class cabins as Club Class due to increased

popularity.  If you're lucky enough to have booked one of those when it was still non-Club Class, you've

won a minor jackpot.

 

Hypothesis #2:  The website is as buggy as it's always been.

 

Call Princess several times, ask, then average the answers.  (Or just wait and see what you get.)

What is your cabin category?

If it is M followed by a number (such as M1), it is a Club Class mini-suite.

If it is M followed by a letter (such as MA), it is not a Club Class mini-suite.

Do you have a room assignment?  If so, and it's midship, you may have been upgraded.

On the Regal, which MDR is assigned to the R deck suites, and where exactly is CC dining located?

We're closer to the front - and it's an M(letter), so I think it may have been a glitch. Like I said, it's not important either way, we'll be happy with what we get. We were originally booked in an interior room (four of us including our children), and we decided to pay extra to upgrade to a mini suite during sales, that meant we only had to pay an extra $1500 or so.

We did Club Class on the Regal Princess, Baltic Sea Tour over the summer. Thoroughly enjoyed it.  The waiters and Maitre'D know us by name, better service, we were able to sit by the window in the dining room.  However, it is not yet as nice of a perk as the Blu Dining Room on Celebrity.

I once sent customer relations email saying pretty much the same thing. It's a good start, but an extra dish is not the same as a private menu.

We had Club Class on on the Royal last week.  About a week after our original booking, my husband received a notice about a Casino sailing for less than we were paying for our mini-suite.  We didn't want to sail on one of the Casino dates listed, but we called Princess and they offered us the same rate which was nearly a $300 difference.  They also offered Club Class at a big discount and we took it because of the location mid-ship with a slightly larger balcony.  I love sitting on the balcony and we had sailed Royal and Regal previously with the extra small balconies, so we were already happy with Club Class. We were under the Sea Walk, which I talk about in my review.  Not an issue at all. We found it easy to just show up at the Dining Room when we were ready to eat.  Never had any wait.  Didn't have to plan our day for a particular seating.  Yes, they have a list with your room number.  They had several two person tables, but at least two four person tables and one round table that could six or eight (not sure which).  We were close enough to our neighbors to share some laughs or conversation, but not feel obligated to chat if we did not want to as you might at a shared table.  We love meeting other travelers, but we also enjoy each other's company.  Always an extra choice for dinner entree and an appetizer or dessert.  One night, my husband wanted a strawberry sundae which was not on the menu and they were happy to accommodate him.  I would definitely do CC again, if the price was right.

I was on the Majestic a fortnight ago and we had CC dining as we were in a suite.  The benefit of being able to walk in and be seated within minutes was lovely, but we didn't really enjoy sitting at a round table of 8 when there was only 3 of us.  They wouldn't allow us to share a table.  One night we had the additional menu option (there was only 1) of onion rings that were served with the existing steak dish.  Another evening the only additional CC menu item was a second flavour of icecream added to an existing dessert.  Nothing special at all - quite disappointing really considering the hype about CC.  The advertised 'tableside preparations' was the spooning of mint jelly onto our plate one evening.  The wait staff were pleasant, but no more attentive than the MDR staff.  We only used CC dining twice.  Maybe these were all teething issues as the Majestic settles into Australia for the season, but there's no way in the world I would ever pay extra for Club Class dining...

One thing I like about TD is the comfort one develops with the wait staff since you have the same service team every day.  They quickly learn your preferences (iced tea every day, extra butter, no bread, whatever).  This is lost with CC (and ATD) but we've found that simply letting the CC staff know you prefer the same staff each meal will generally be honored.  

 

Occasionally this has created a short wait for a table to open up in 'our' section.  The longest of these about 20 minutes.  In such cases we were offered the choice of being seated immediately or waiting for 'our' server.  

 

The entire CC experience is really a notch above.  Would do it every time were the premium tolerable.

 

Oh, and don't worry about what the personalizer says . . . CC is driven by cabin number.  Your CC status will be printed on your key card.

In CC there's not a huge waitstaff so all got to know our preferences quickly.
