Rare pierces Posted September 3, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 3, 2018 Pictures taken between Monday, September 3 and Sunday, September 9. Rules: See above That's it. This isn't a contest. All photos taken this week are welcome (not just cruising). Prizes will not be awarded. Discovering the joy of photography is the prize. The idea is to get folks out using their cameras for more than vacations and toddler birthdays. Post one. Post many. Up to you. Have fun with your camera and share your fun with others. Krazy Kruizers Posted September 6, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 6, 2018 We didn't think that our white hibiscus plant would bloom this year but it did. This flower appeared yesterday.
kenevenpar Posted September 6, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 6, 2018 It looks like there are a few more buds on it. We cruised to Bermuda in the beginning of August, and DW commented that there were many fewer Hibiscus than we are used to seeing. Maybe it was a time that they trimmed them back? It was surprising. Ken There are. I hope they bloom but with all the rain we are to get over the next four days, the buds may just drop off. We cut ours back each fall once they turn brown. zackiedawg Posted September 14, 2018 #11 Share Posted September 14, 2018 Well I was up at Disney World again for the weekend that falls on this post's date range, so here are a few snaps from Disney World and vicinity: Port Orleans Riverside Resort building entrance: 6:30am view from my 1-bedroom villa's balcony at Saratoga Springs Resort: The new Slinky-Dog-Dash roller coaster in the new Toy Story Land section of Hollywood Studios park: Nothing hits the spot better than an ice-cold tiki bar tropical drink on a super-hot muggy afternoon. This is a 'cool headed monkey' at Jock Lindsay's Hangar Bar: The Coca Cola building and bar at Disney Springs at night:
Rare pierces Posted September 20, 2018 Author #12 Share Posted September 20, 2018 Pictured here is the Portland Head Light. Located in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, it was first lit in January, 1791. It's Maine’s oldest lighthouse and is still a working navigational beacon maintained by the US Coast Guard. Looking at the historical structure lit by the first light of a new day, there is no visible clue that a vast installation belonging to a secret government agency is hidden hundreds of feet beneath its ruggedly beautiful setting. Built to survive a nuclear war, the Lighthouse’s existence is one of the agency’s best kept secrets. As a fan of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., I’m privy to this sort of top secret information. Or not. Even if it’s just a lighthouse, it’s still real pretty after 227 years. The Lighthouse Dave
