HAL Discounted Gift Cards Available Somewhere?

On our Carnival cruise last week I bought 2 Carnival gift cards through AARP - $200 worth of gift cards cost $180 and DH took them to Guest Services and they were entered into our onboard account. I checked AARP and they only had them for Carnival and Royal Caribbean. I Googled the question and didn't receive any relative hits. Is this type of discounted gift card for HAL available somewhere?

I should clarify that I purchased the gift cards from AARP online months before the cruise, not while on the cruise.

Having been aware of the discount gift cards for Carnival and Celebrity, I've looked in the past for HAL.  Never found any, nor have I ever seen a shopping cart on HAL that permits the use of gift cards.  I do know Celebrity limits you to $1,000 in gift cards per sailing, which takes a bit of fun out of it (over 21% off on ABC Gift Cards).

I've never heard of discount gift cards for HAL.

I'd be interested if they were available.

Was not aware that discounted gift cards could be bought from AARP for both Carnival & Celebrity cruise ships .Thanks for this information

I have known about the discount gift cards from AARP for Carnival and Celebrity.

 

But there has never been any offered for HAL.

After a little more research, I discovered you can also get Carnival gift cards from Allstate and Verizon. Still nothing more about any for HAL.

My company has a discount program (Spend Smart) where you can buy gift cards for various companies as a discount.  They don't have HAL but they do have RCI.  My coworker paid for his cruise, prepaid his gratuities and added OBC - all for 15% off.

That's a huge savings... enough that I'm not looking at Royal for my next cruise.

If it is a Carnival Cruise Lines gift card, it can only be used for cruises on Carnival Cruise Lines.

 

If it is a Carnival Corporation gift card, it can be used on any of their brands including HA.
