Cunard Cocktail Classes

What are your favourite activities onboard a Cunard cruise?

I’ve really enjoyed the cocktail classes onboard both QV and QM2. For those that haven’t had the chance to try yet the classes yet I thought I’d wet your appetite (excuse the pun!) with a few pictures. These were taken onboard QM2 in May 2018. I hope these are of interest.

Wow, that sure sounds like my kind of class! The only question I have is who carries you back to the cabin? LOL

I went straight to afternoon tea on both occasions. I walked by myself, but possibly not in a straight line. And I’m sure not particularly coherent either!

There is a quiz at the end (prize is to pick a drink that the professionals have made during the class) so do make sure you pay attention! The picture in the window above is with my prize!!

I attended a Martini mixology class on QE this year. The cost was $30 plus 15% and worth every cent. Informative and fun with a capital F.

It was my birthday and I was given an extra espresso martini, my favourite cocktail, in addition to the lucky dip cocktail plus the generous sample cocktails we garnished. Brought a whole new meaning to a Happy Birthday.

Fortunately my husband was also in the Commodore club but not in the class so was there to steer me back to our stateroom.

We were quite a small group with a fab tutor from the bar staff and we all enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend it.

It was definitely $30 plus 15% on QE in October also in the Commodore club. I have the receipt. Odd how the prices differ from ship to ship. The gin tasting session was a similar price although this is from memory as I didn't make it to this session.

I agree it is odd, but as noted in my earlier post it was definitely more expensive on QM2 than QV (and the trips were only several months apart). The drinks were the same too. That said, I preferred the set up of sitting along the bar on QM2 (rather than just in an area of the Commodore Club) and the rigour/seriousness with which mixology was taken!

Think the classes were offered on the QE last November but couldn't make it for some reason.

Have done them on every HAL cruise that we've done, fun with a capital F .....

Originally the guests were allowed to make the actual cocktails under direction of the bar staff, goes without saying that some may have been a little heavy on the alcohol side ..... last trip made by bar staff for OH&S reasons.

If you get the chance do it.

Cheers Tom & Maureen
