When we were there last July, there were areas blocked off to viewing by high fencing, so we could not see any contruction.

From the ship you can see over the fencing. 😄

We booked 6 weeks on the Vision in Jan/19 and Feb/19, out of the 6 sailings we were suppose to visit Coco Cay 5 times. They only changed the first 2 sailings(switched Coco Cay with Miami) but we are still scheduled to visit Coco Cay on Jan 19th, Jan 26th and Feb 2nd sailings.

Are no ships docking/tendering at Coco Cay at this time? Or is it just one ship each day?

Thanks

One at a time.

We're on the Grandeur out of Baltimore on Feb 14th and I just received an email saying, " While we are transforming our private destination, CocoCay, into Perfect Dat at CocoCay, we have experienced a minor delay. As a result, we've had to replace your visit to CocoCay with the beautiful port, Grand Bahama Island. We are sorry for any disappointment."

They were saying the pier would be done in January. Doesn't look to be the case.

We are leaving out of Bayonne on feb 15th on Anthem. Sorry if we got your parking space. Haven't been to Coco cay yet though so we are looking forward to it.

This response is WH press conference caliber. "The beautiful port, Grand Bahama." Saw a comedian on Explorer out of NJ some years ago. His performance was the night of our beautiful Grand Bahama stop. He said that he woke up that morning, then went on deck to have a morning look. He said it looked like we were back in Bayonne except for a few palm trees. Here's to minor delays but still advertising an unrealistic completion date when taking bookings.

Agree, and with regards to Oasis class ships, one might question why a passenger would pay extra to get off their floating amusement park attend a land based water park.

Plus pay extra $$ to do it.  😉

I still prefer the scuba diving there to what they do in the Aquatheater pool.  Hard to turn a jet ski around in  any pool.

Yes, there are trees.

But you might want to get there early to get a shady spot.

And while you can move the umbrella around to keep in the shade, it is a bit harder to move the trees. 🙂

Option #1: You stay put and move the shading item as the earth rotates.

Some people (but apparently not all) are smart enough to realize there is Option #2:

Shading item stays put, but you move yourself to stay in the shade.

Fine if you are the only one under the tree.  But there may be a few others that are in the same area, and will not appreciate your moving their loungers to move yours into their spot. 😄
