Need advice - Carnival Casino Chips

Generally speaking per the FAQ, chips taken off the ship are now souvenirs and may not be valid on other cruises.  I read this as it is worth trying to use them, but don't be surprised if they won't be accepted.

What happens if I take my casino chips home with me?
Casino chips and tokens are only valid on board. Please ensure that these are cashed out prior to vessel debarkation. Any chips or tokens taken ashore are to be considered souvenirs and may not be valid on a subsequent cruise.

Unless Carnival has swapped out its chips lately, which I don't believe it has, you should be able to use it on any CCL ship. Any one who actually plays tables games and pays attention to their chips knows their are chips from many different ships in their stack.

.

Chips represent real tangible money

whatever that is these days.

It's nice to see that they will still honor the value, years later

as well as per difrnt ships. That says a lot!

Actually a couple of cruises ago I played craps with another couple that actually search eBay for people selling CCL casino chips at a discount. Not the $1 or $5 chips  but sometimes they get people selling a $25 or $100 chip at a discount just to get something for it. Either they thought it was a collectors item, or sometimes they forgot they had it until they got off the ship.

A little OT, but I would like to see CCL go to a chip that is the same regardless of ship.

Take them with you.  I brought home a black chip a few years ago.  It was tucked into the corner of my black purse and got missed.  When I went on my next cruise, no problem cashing it in.  It wasn't 4 years later, so please come back and let us know if you were able to get your money!:classic_cool:

I am holding $100 poker chips from a Carnival Magic cruise from 4 yrs ago. I am now going on a Carnival Paradise cruse in March.  Will Carnival allow me to use these chips on my next cruise?

Is each chip worth $100, or do you have a collection of chips that add up to $100?  They're not going to know that the chips are 4 years old.   I was on Horizon a couple of weeks ago playing craps, where chips are constantly in motion.  The vast majority of the chips used were stamped as Horizon chips, but every once in a while a chip from another ship would find it's way into my stack.  Of course these were of the $1 to $5 denominations.  If you have small denomination chips, you should be able to introduce them into a game.  However, I'm not going to speak to the $25, $100, or $500 chips from other vessels.

Hi

I have used chips from other ships on a future cruise without problem. That is not to say that your situation will turn out the same. My chips were not four years old and they weren't for $100. What I would do, is play at some tables (I assume you do gamble) and when you are done, take all your chips including your $100 chip and cash it in at the teller. The worst that can happen, is that they won't honor it. It is still yours either way. If you have been playing a lot and have other $100 dollar chips, if they give you a hard time, you might consider suggesting that you got it from them. As said by others, you will commonly see chips from other ships on every cruise.

Who knows, but I don't think you will have a problem

have a great cruise

I hope not.

I have a casino chip from every casino I’ve played in which includes those on land and those on ships. It’s become quite the collection over time and it always brings back memories when adding another chip to the collection.
