firsttimecruiser9876 Posted March 11, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 11, 2019 Thoughts on 4 night cruise only 1 stop? Too much time at sea?? I like to hit land in case of a rocky boat. Is this a silly worry?
CJDepew Posted March 11, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 11, 2019 Just got off the Sunshine two weeks ago. She was rocking, but that's not unexpected in the Southern Caribbean during "westerly" season and 50+knot winds. I suspect you'll be sailing in calmer seas. I loved the Sunshine and there's plenty to do during days at sea.
firsttimecruiser9876 Posted March 11, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted March 11, 2019 This would be out of Charleston which may be more succeptable to rocky seas, but not positive.
riffatsea Posted March 11, 2019 #4 Share Posted March 11, 2019 (edited) We always take meds to prevent seasickness so the rocking never bothers us. To me a 4 day cruise is too short to bother doing . I like ports that are interesting not just sea days. Edited March 11, 2019 by riffatsea
emoorehead Posted March 11, 2019 #5 Share Posted March 11, 2019 Charleston is no more susceptible to rocky seas than anywhere else that is affected by tropical weather. And you won't be in Charleston for that long. I agree with riffatsea, though....4 days is too short.
mdsgu Posted March 11, 2019 #6 Share Posted March 11, 2019 Depends. Personally, I like sea days, so that wouldn't bother me. But 4 days is really short. It'll be over before it really gets started.
CheersPkg4Us Posted March 11, 2019 #7 Share Posted March 11, 2019 We love sea days so it wouldn't be a problem for us. As others have stated above only 4 day's would be a concern. We've been looking at a 7 day with only 1 stop in Bermuda. It is a 2 night stay.
blueskadoo Posted March 11, 2019 #8 Share Posted March 11, 2019 (edited) We're doing this cruise this summer. We're excited to have the days at sea but we also specifically chose this cruise because its our daughter's first time cruising and we don't know how she'll like it. If she's not having fun...nobody will be having fun and we don't want to be stuck somewhere with a miserable kid! The sea days will also allow us to really spend time on the ship and enjoy its amenities, whereas when you're in port you feel compelled to be out exploring (at least for us). We hope it will be amazing and we can take a longer cruise in the future with her. We're repeating this cruise with just me and hubs in the fall because its all the time we can get away from work. So I do think these shorter cruises have their place. Edited March 11, 2019 by blueskadoo
redcoats1976 Posted March 11, 2019 #9 Share Posted March 11, 2019 you could always try camp carnival plus the other night life for kids activities onboard.my grandkids have been on two cruises and enjoyed both of them.
