grandmarnnurse Posted March 13, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 13, 2019 (edited) I just booked a cruise for April 5, 2020 to cruise before our already booked cruise on April 11, 2020, both on the Magic and in the same cabin. This makes it a B2B. We have never done a B2B before, and was wondering, do we have to leave ship and check in, or do we just stay put and do nothing. I know I need to get a new sail and sign card. Anyone that has done B2B, could you advise me. Thank you in advance. Edited March 13, 2019 by grandmarnnurse
kona_wahine Posted March 13, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 13, 2019 We were told to be in one of the dining rooms at a certain time. They gave us our new cards, led us off the ship, quickly went thru customs, and right back on.
janjan3839 Posted March 13, 2019 #3 Share Posted March 13, 2019 We had the same experience. Meet in an area and walk through customs with the other b2b people. We were given our new card before we went through customs. It was an easy process.
coevan Posted March 13, 2019 #4 Share Posted March 13, 2019 don't forget the free mimosa in the MDR. Note 10-11 is very eerie it's just you and the crew and everything is closed. we hung out in the Serenity deck until the bar opened at

ShakyBeef Posted March 13, 2019 #8 Share Posted March 13, 2019 If you haven't already, you might want to contact your PVP, or TA, or whomever you booked the cruises with to make sure they are "linked" as a BTB, so that you are in the system as BTB PAX and thus will get the proper instructions and processing while onboard. Since you booked these cruises at two different times, it might not be linked.

If you can get the same cabin for both legs, you won't have to pack, but if not, the cabin steward will help move your things. Mimosas will be offered at the atrium bar right after you board. I did call Carnival a little while ago to let them know this is a B2B, but I don’t see any notation of that fact on my booking confirmation. I certainly hope it’s in their system correctly. It won't be on either of your confirmations, which is why we always check with guest services during the first cruise.

I will go to guest services once onboard, perhaps on day two, to verify with them. Thank you for that suggestion. So, after we are led through customs and we are back on ship, we get the mimosa in the Atrium.

There is no standard and certainly no guarantee of any free drinks. If you search here for "B2B", you will get a hundred different ways they are handled. The only consistents are you will need to clear Customs and you will get a new Sail & Sign.

Anyislandwilldo Posted March 13, 2019 #19 Share Posted March 13, 2019 Also let your cabin steward know that you are doing a B2B. I like to have all bases covered in case there is lack of communication. I would hate to come back to my cabin and find all my belongs gone. From the time we left the lounge to be walked off the ship and through customs, it took 10 minutes to arrive at the atrium bar. We did receive mimosas and a photographer took a group picture of all the other people doing b2b's. There is no consistency across the fleet. We waited in a lounge for over an hour before we were escorted off the ship. I would think Carnival would have this down to a science by now. The dinner menu will be the same on the second leg and the entertainment will be the same as well. It was useful for us to plan our activities so we didn't miss anything. Enjoy your B2B.

This is not going to happen. the cabin steward is the one who puts the B2B instructions in your cabin. We have never went to guest services either, can't really see why. We have gone off and back in 15 minutes and also an hour. It's not the ships not having it down to a science. It's attaining a customs agent to clear the B2B guests, sometimes they are not in a hurry. The lady who was escorting us was constantly on her walkie talkie. She told us they were waiting for customs and it would be more comfortable here than standing in the terminal waiting. She was getting as inpatient as the guests were. I will be sure to let my room steward know, just as a precaution, along with checking with guest services, also. I like to know that I have all my ducks in a row. kona_wahine Posted March 14, 2019 #22 Share Posted March 14, 2019 I called carnival before our cruise to link the bookings. Our steward approached us and said he knew of the B2B. We didn’t go to GS, obviously, no need. They had water, pastries in the dining room for us as we waited, and when the all clear came thru we went out and right back on. We were served mimosas in the entryway and they took our picture, and delivered it later for free. We were also delivered a fruit basket. This was on the Breeze. Tiger0613 Posted March 14, 2019 #23 Share Posted March 14, 2019 Did they also have virgin mimosas? The only alcoholic drink I can tolerate is a daiquiri. Everything else is disgusting to me.

I’m also excited because we are driving for that cruise, rather than fly, and I can bring on a 12 pack of Diet Coke and a bottle of wine! Hooray! Although I’m not happy about lugging extra weight, it’s a lot cheaper than buying it on ship.
