Room service on Equinox

Our first Celebrity cruise is fast approaching!  I’m confused about room service - is there a charge for the food? Seems I saw a menu on the app with prices, but I read lots of people have breakfast on the balcony. That sounds lovely, but is there a charge at any time of day?

Thanks in advance.

Many items from room service do not have a charge.  There are a few for which there is a extra charge.  There is no fee for room service between 6am - 11pm.  After 11 the charge is $4.95

And you can get lunch and dinner delivered free from the MDR menu during their operating hours

There is a menu in the app and a menu on the TV. No where is it stated that you can order from the main dining room, but others report that you can. You would need to call that in, I guess.

When room service is delivered, you are asked where to bring it in - in the cabin or on the balcony.

When I did two cruises with a temporary mobility problem we really used room service. Prior to that all we had used it for was an occasional breakfast.

We were pleasantly surprised by the choices, the food quality and that the fact the food came hot. They also serve the best French fries on the ship!

If you are in a suite and order a full meal you can ask your butler to serve it course by course.

From reports on this board, course by course may depend on your butler.

Just an FYI that ordering eggs will most likely means they will be cold. I'm sure it's a haul to get the food to your room. And we joked about the 'scrambled egg' like product that came two mornings. It was just a strange way they prepared them, not the fact that they were cold.

As for tipping, we usually tip $5.
