Favourite Spots on QM2?

I'm about to do my second TA on the QM2 (5 more weeks!) and I can't wait.

Where are your favourite spots on board? I'm in Britannia, so no QG/PG lounges for me.

Last time, I spent a lot of time in the Carinthia Lounge - lots of light for knitting, comfy couches - but I also enjoyed sitting down in the long hallways on 3L that run between the Grand Lobby and Illuminations, watching the sea go by right by my feet.

The Chart Room in the afternoon , relaxing with a good book ! or, Carinthia Lounge for a light lunch.  I wouldn't worry about not being in the Grills, that Lounge is  dead & dreary until the evenings when it comes alive , as for the concierge deck 9, at the end of the day this is an inward looking office that just happens to offer coffee and refreshments.

The hot tubs on the stern terrace deck 8. A GREAT view looking aft over the stern watching the wake wander off to the horizon. The Terrace bar will even serve you a chilled chardonnay (in a plastic wine glass of course) to add to your relaxation. By the way, your can access the Terrace Pool on deck 8 from deck 7 so that you do not have to walk through the Veranda Restaurant in a bath robe (Yikes!). Just wish Cunard would raise the temp on those hot tube a few more degrees.

Favorite spots for simply sitting and reading or having a drink (in some cases) or whatever...

  • The Commodore Club at any time
  • The deep window ledges/seats in the Library (and the comfy chairs nearby)
  • The seats along the windows on Deck 3 forward near the Cunard history exhibits
  • The window seats in the Chart Room and Golden Lion Pub

Favorite spots for being in the middle of the QM2 experience

  • Afternoon tea in the Queens Room
  • Dinner in the Beautiful Britannia Restaurant on a gala/formal evening
  • Martinis at the Chart Room bar before dinner
  • Sitting in Illuminations for lecture by a renowned expert
