Hi All

We are going to Las Vegas prior to our cruise, so we are taking US Dollars but when we get to Vancouver and onboard Celebrity Elipse is it US dollars or Canadian Dollars, can anyone help please. Cheers Lyn and Jeunette

Casino play—at least initially—is not cashless...  Your SeaPass Card will be used to track play but not fund play (though tournament entry fees and advances—generally at a fee—can be charged to your onboard account via SeaPass) or to collect winnings...

As is true at land-based casinos, slot machines use cash and/or vouchers; table games use cash and/or chips...  A cashier is available to redeem vouchers/chips into cash...

Regardless of ship location, all casino transactions are conducted in US currency...

Hi, as others have said, no cash needed on the ship unless you want to tip over and above the daily tips charged to your account. US dollars are accepted in Canada at most locations but the exchange rate will be less than you will get if you exchange at a Canadian bank. Have you looked at exchanging Australian dollars to Canadian dollars.

I have been on a celebrity Cruise in the Mediterranean where the casino did except either us dollars or euros.

Only before & after the cruise in Vancouver.  All of your ports are in Alaska, part of the US.  EM

I suspect you will encounter few if any places in any port you visit (in Canada or the US including Alaska) where your standard credit card will not do the job, so you really don't need to worry much about local cash to start with. These days that includes taxi's and tips except perhaps for a hotel maid. Hopefully your credit card does not charge any foreign exchange fees.  I have certain cards that I signed up for simply because they don't charge FE fees, and I think this is a sound practice for anyone who travels internationally.  Your bank ATM card will be fine if you do suddenly need local cash.  These days it seems you're seldom more than a two minute walk from an ATM in any city of the sort that hosts cruise ships.  The ship also has a US$ ATM, if you get a sudden urge to go lose some of your hard-earned wealth in the casino.

We bring cash ( US$$$) for tips.

Same here - someone on here told us to take loads of US dollar bills for tips and it seems to work well.
