Not always early. They also sometimes do a “mass hosting” so all the middle section tables are hosted by various officers. Involves about 50-60 guests

We have recently returned from b2b. On both legs we were invited to hosted meals. We met in Mosaic at 6 15 for drinks and then ate. Both meals were very leisurely and last over 2 hours. The officers we met we were probably unlikely to meet around the ship and were interesting and informative. The other guests were great and we met them frequently throughout the cruises for coffee/drinks/dinner or just a chat.
