Guaranteed staterooms on Ovation

Recommended Posts

For those of you that have booked a guaranteed balcony stateroom on Ovation of the Seas, what was your experience?   Were you satisfied with your room?   Were you placed more at the front or the rear of the ship?   Noisy area?   Just looking for feedback.  We have always booked a specific room and have never gone with a guaranteed before.

For a couple hundred dollars savings I wouldn’t book a guaranteed cabin because if you don’t like it you’re stuck with it.

on Ovation all the cabins are basically the same, the ones near 270 can get a bit noisy  .

it’s a big ship and some of the corridors are long and I would hate a cabin right at the front or back.

On my Ovation cruise (NZ Dec 23017) we had a verandah cabin well forward starboard. We really liked it. It was a long walk to the MDR but we didn't mind a walk after dinner. It was also handy to the main theatre which we went to almost every night and also getting there for lectures. We always took the stairs to beat the after show crowds waiting for the lifts.

We had a balcony on deck 13 as a guarantee booking for an obstructed balcony. It was a late booking with only guarantees available at the time and was at a considerable price reduction.

Our room was in  the area below the buffet entrance but we didn't have any noise problems.

It was sometimes too handy to take the stairs up to the buffet for a little extra plate of food.

We would book it again as it was a very handy spot and the only obstruction was a 10cm pole to the overhanging roof.

Sailed a few times on Ovation & to be honest if the gt price saved you a fair bit of money I would book that. All the balcony rooms we have stayed in have been wonderful inc an obstructed one on deck 6.

We had a cabin on deck 6 which was partially obstructed as it has a column (for the tender) which sort of blocked your view if seated on the loungers on the balcony but if standing was not in the way unless looking down.
