Cruise Director on Marina

Can anyone currently on the Marina tell me who the Cruise Director is?  Thanks

I just got off on Sunday and it was John Clelford.

We disembarked Marina recently and had CD John Clelford. Honestly, we found him very boring with a scratchy voice (annoying). His announcements were minimal which was fine by us but, missed having a CD with personality and found him lack lustre...

Peter Roberts is currently back on Marina.

I’ve never been with John clelford. I have no idea. Peter is an acquired taste.

Not a Peter Roberts fan even in the least! After day 4 or 5, even his shoes are no longer entertaining. If he is an acquired taste, it’s like Castrol Oil, one I’ll never acquire. He’s my least favorite CD and I rarely compare CDs.

Rather than start a new thread, may I ask what a cruise director does?  Sounds like s/he make announcements and maybe do some silly entertainment.  What kind of training/education would one have?  TIA.

On Oceania they are in charge of trivia and mc’s most events and make announcements etc.

For some they have value, for us they offer little. In fact they can be annoying with their announcements and believing how good they are.

Again, everyone has different views and that is ours 😊

It is an oddity of life that the most social and the least social of us need the Cruise Directors least.

Most people fall somewhere in between.
