Jewish Ghetto in Venice

We are on the Nieuw Amsterdam next summer. We arrive on a Monday, board ship on Tuesday and have Wednesday to visit Venice. Ship departs Wednesday at 4:00.

I am trying to figure out site seeing in Venice. We would like to see the Jewish Ghetto.

Any suggestions for a tour?

What day do you suggest we visit the Ghetto?

We enjoyed the tour that you sign up for at the museum (Museo Ebraico) in the Ghetto. Led by a community member and very interesting. I would imagine either Tuesday or Wednesday would be fine.

I agree that you should take the tour that you can sign up for in the ghetto.  Also, mid-week should be fine.

You don’t need a tour to visit the Jewish Ghetto. Just get a good map of Venice (we used the Venice Pop Up map from Amazon) and walk there yourselves.

Yes, there is a vaporetto stop right there.  However, the tour will get you into several synagogues not accessible without the tour.
