LaCal Posted September 11, 2019 #1 Share Posted September 11, 2019 Thanks to Tallnthensome and his post about the additional $50 excursion credit I called NCL....Decided to make it a new post as his Title doesn’t explain its about the New Perk So Check out your current reservations to see if the Additional $50 per port excursion credit can apply to you(Oceanviews and Above) We called NCL yesterday and have 2 cruises booked in 2020 and already had the 5 perks including the $50 per port excursioncredit. Called just now and with this new perk of Airfare OR a ADDITIONAL $50 per port excursion credit they easily added on the EXTRA $50 per port excursion....So now we get $100 per port excursion credit 😜💰 Only difference in our bookings was our Free specialty dining package went up a total of $8.00 on each cruise due to changing it......Had a third additional cruise booked where they had already given us a $100 OBC And on that cruise we would of lost the OBC but gained the extra $50 excursion credit....only doing 1 excursion that cruise so left it alone w the original perks... .Not all cruises have this New additional $50 excursion perk but you can easily do a Mock booking on your cruise and when you get to the perk section it’ll tell you.......Ours was Get all 5 and at the bottom we could ALSO pick EITHER free airfare or Free $50 additional excursion perk Have read most people are being able to get the extra Perk no problem and one girl even got $680 off her cruise as the price had went down....she would of never known 😃 A few people couldn’t use it because their cruise price would of gone up 🙈.....Def doesn’t hurt to check GREAT additional savings for sure 😜
tallnthensome Posted September 11, 2019 #2 Share Posted September 11, 2019 Good idea on posting this thread. I helped me out having two kids and seven ports on my next Panama Canal cruise. Glad it helped you as well.

And you're right, I never would have known about it had I not been looking for the shore excursion promo. I also lost $100 OBC but with the price drop and an additional $50 shore excursion per port (5 ports) it was a no brainer. Thanks to tallnthensome for posting yesterday. And this thread should get more people the additional promo so thanks to LaCal too! Edited September 11, 2019 by Aprille
Rare shof515 Posted September 11, 2019 #5 Share Posted September 11, 2019 i wish they can show some love to the people who book inside cabins. i know they are cheap for a reason but still..come on norwegian
Friend of Pitts Posted September 11, 2019 #6 Share Posted September 11, 2019 Question. I have all the perks are reduced airfare for September 2020on the Epic - Western Mediterranean Cruise. I keep reading that everyone saves money from when they originally booked is this the case for Haven Members also? Also, Since I already get the $50 shore excursion if I call in will it now be $100? TIA

I was holding out hope that they would offer the free airfare to insides again (I had that perk on my cruise this past April), but my final payment is due on Friday, so it doesn't look like that is going to happen. There is nothing wrong with booking inside, but don't expect the same perks as those who are paying a lot more than you for heavens sake.

So for Oceanview it is basically a pick 3 vs pick 2 or 5. For a family of 3, it is actually cheaper to get a Balcony than it is for an Oceanview on some cruises because of the free 3rd/4th guest. You can only get a Family Oceanview if you have more than 2 people which obviously costs more.

tbo Posted September 13, 2019 #19 Share Posted September 13, 2019 I was able to get our cruise down by $492 and was able to add on the reduced airfare $99 round trip per person from Louisville to Los Angeles. Normally I'm pretty OCD about planning every detail, but for that savings I'm going to take a chance with them booking it for us. Chances are we wouldn't get a direct flight anyway, so why not. I'll probably try and go in 2 days earlier to sight see(and make sure we are at port on time!) and fly home on debarkation. Altogether we are getting flights and the cruise cheaper than the original price of the cruise-happy dance :)

FranknBeans Posted September 13, 2019 #21 Share Posted September 13, 2019 (edited) NCL excursions are already ridiculously overpriced. And so they will just add it to the cost of the excursion. You'll save more than that booking off ship excursions. Edited September 13, 2019 by FranknBeans addition
tokidoki Posted September 13, 2019 #22 Share Posted September 13, 2019 Has anyone gotten this new extra $50 for shore x, without taking the take all perks? It’s offered on my cruise and even though we have a balcony, the dining/drinks is a waste for us, but the extra 50 would work!? Thx
