Riviera photos leaving Manhattan Sept 27, 2019

Hi everyone,

 

I was on Classic Harbor Line’s sunset  champagne cruise out of Chelsea Pier 62 yesterday leaving at 6:15pm, and Riviera has just come down the Hudson once she left the Manhattan Cruise Terminal at 6pm.  

 

We sailed side by side all the way down the Hudson on Riviera’s port side, so I could only capture her with the NJ skyline. We crossed behind her stern once we were close to Lady Liberty as Riviera lined up to head farther out towards the Verrazano Bridge. Thought I’d Share some photos 🙂

 

 

 

 

 

 

Don't know why, but this photo below was to be the first as we were just coming out of Pier 62, and now I can’t change it from my iPhone.

Great shots!   I used to enjoy watching ships sailaway from the Chart House restaurant in Weehawken, NJ...

but this looks like a better way of doing it....plus, no need to 'cross' the river to get there...🙂

Great photos.  We were on Marina a few years ago and sailing down the Hudson was one of the best sailaway's in over 30 years of cruising. Have driven over the bridge many hundreds of times but going under it was amazing.

Oh my! I was so close staying at the Meadowlands for the Giant’s game and would have loved to see it since we cruise on her in November! Thanks for the pictures!!

Thanks for these pics, Hoopster95.  We will be on Riviera in ~3 weeks and will see NY from onboard.  You have really whetted our appetite!  I can hardly wait!  Better start thinking about packing more seriously, I guess.☺️

Very nice pictures, thanks very much for sharing.   We just sailed this route, in reverse, on the Regent Navigator.  Sadly, it was during the early morning darkness and I was still asleep.  ☹️
