Crew has headed out at 7 to set up. Crew will be having full contracts living on shore on the island! Theres full acommodations for them et. In speaking to some of them, it doesn’t sound like many are too thrilled about that, and I can’t say I blame them!

BoundForSea Posted December 13, 2019 #555 Share Posted December 13, 2019 (edited) Answer to the question on Beachfront Cabanas in YC. They start furthest from the YC Restaurant at #1. they go along the beach to #6 which is right next to the Restaurant. Then # 7 is on other side of the restaurant and then they wrap around north side of the island from there going up in numbers. So my friend who asked which one should you shoot for? I’d say go with #5 or better #6. Then on other side of the restaurany #7 then #8. Up from there is further as you increase in numbers. Important: 1-6 are your premium beach front Cabanas, 7-13 are your Oceanview Cananas for leas cost with a rocky shore. Theres cart service exclusive to YC guests for transport around the island. Dont confuse this for the regular bus service which starts at the golf cart station near the entrance. Ill add to this as I have more info Pics of closest cabanas to YC Rest: 6,7 Edited December 13, 2019 by BoundForSea
BoundForSea Posted December 13, 2019 #556 Share Posted December 13, 2019 (edited) YC Lunch Menu and our meals. Food being prepared in the food trucks I posted earlier outside the restaurant. So far so good. The lunch rush came all at once so consider waiting a bit after they open for lunch as we didnt get a seat outside but inside. We ordered the Octopus Salad and the Ocean Cay Salad and the Lobstah (were from New England) Roll and the Penne Pasta. Rob-Bob Posted December 13, 2019 #557 Share Posted December 13, 2019 Thanks for the cabana info Boundforsea! If it is not too much trouble if you can get the rest of the cabana locations and numbers it would be most appreciated. Great info on the YC cabanas. Rob-Bob Posted December 13, 2019 #559 Share Posted December 13, 2019 It looks like maybe the deluxe beach cabanas are along Bimini Beach and the regular beach cabanas are on the North Beach? Maybe all of the cabanas (all 4 classes) are after you cross over the bridge to the YC.

I asked for maps from the ship and none exist yet.

BoundForSea Posted December 13, 2019 #564 Share Posted December 13, 2019 (edited) So guys, Ill be posting more from the YC Ocean Cay Live but heres my impression. Ive been on 14 cruises and sailed alot in Haven on NCL, once in June on SS in YC, and Ive booked several more in YC and will be booking some long weeknds for Ocean Cay. Im hooked. If you have kids (ours are grown) and you need to entertain them as we did with an epic waterpark or Disney like themepark this island isnt your gig, go see Royal on CoCo they do it like no other. If you are looking for an untouched, natural beautiful clean serene adult island with great food service and deinks and beautiful natural surroundings, this is it. The focus on marine life and the reserve is not just a marketing thing. Ive been all over the caribbean professionally and Ill put this island paradise up against any beautiful Island in the caribbean. Im very critical, trust me, but this week and this island, they have hit it out of the park. You can see the staff from the Master who is here to our YC Director, and all the staff trying SOOO HARD to make this second visit for SS here a success. Its priceless. More to follow. Hope my expeirences today Live help those who are booked or are considering booking. I apologize as we are in the YC experience so I can’t really speak to much other than that however Im sure one of out fellow members will be happy to share! As for me, Im going to sign off for a few and enjoy all this.. Oh and as I write this rn someone just yelled look a stingray!!! No joke. Tried to get a good shot but he had swam away by time I got there. If I see it again Ill try and capture it. It looks beautiful. I want to cruise there. If you have how does Ocean Cay compare? Our 1st MSC is next Feb in the YC.

You can not compare the food for yacht club in ocean cay with Holland America private island , YC is so much better. I did like the entertainment there was something that looked like a old ship with a guitar player playing inside , YC perks are just so much better than hal, we did suites on Hal , celebrity , rccl and YC , YC has best perks in general , Hal worse , celebrity is really close to YC. BoundForSea Posted December 14, 2019 #571 Share Posted December 14, 2019 Hi all. Well, my apologies as I hoped to have the parade, Luna Libre and the Lighthouse Spectacular up. Unfortunately we got hit with heavy winds and rain for the afternoon, so we were back on board by 3pm. The Luna Libre and Parade were cancelled due to weather. I did however capture the entire Lighthouse Spectacular and will post it tomorrow. Its just too large a file for Wifi on board. I hope my posts aided some of you in your future cruise endeavors. Grazi and Ciao for now!

They sure do, we were about to go in snorkelling and the lifeguard pointed to a 4ft shark about 20 mtrs out. He said they are not aggressive just don’t get skittish around them. He was happy for us to go out and look at it. Unlike Jaws when he said/shouted shark everyone snorkelling went INTO the water😂 And a little heads up for anyone who brings their own snorkel gear. The staff at the rental station say you can use your own gear but you have to rent a yellow vest off them. rubbish, the lifeguards are happy to let you do your own thing without wearing one Edited December 15, 2019 by stoneman56
