Reference previous responses to the original TS's question:

Cannot over emphasize a simple method to divine what OBCs are refundable, in cash, if not used; or non-refundable use or loose.

The second morning on each cruise includes a quick visit to the Reception Desk.  Get a summary Account statement.  You will see the bottom line(s).  So much of that OBC is use or loose; so much is refundable, in cash.  We have never had a problem with this.  Given the circumstances on a particular cruise, we did not incur ANY onboard charges (no special wines; no unnecessary trips to the boutique), and disembarked with additional cash in the wallet.  It also helped that we no-longer have to pay for laundry.

OTOH:  It all depends on one's preferences for a Spa visit, or a Culinary Cooking Class (not available on Navigator); a decision to book a special excursion requiring an additional charge; and have staff take care of that pesky laundry.

Potential Casino charges are not on our radar scope.

GOARMY!

Welcome to the Regent board!  Just popping in because posters on this thread seem to not be aware that things have changed.  There was a notice on Explorer earlier this month explaining how onboard credits can be used in the casino.  There are fees involved (do not recall the amount).  So, you will have that option.

That's great news and good information to have.  Thanks

Hi Travelcat2 , Can you ( or anyone else ) expand on this ?  We would prefer to lose some OBC$ in the casino but have been told that is not an option . Do you mean that we can now ? I recall Celebrity charging 5% for the "priveledge " .

Maybe you should start a thread regarding this subject.  Someone currently onboard one of the ships could give you better information. All my DH and I saw was a sign stating that OBC's can be used in the casino (with small writing under it about a fee).  Sorry that I couldn't help.

No Australian based TA's give OBC. You need to book with a USA based TA to get any OBC.

Technically that’s not actually correct - I know an Australian based TA who is a subsidiary of a US company, so also based there, who offers OBC for bookings made with them out of either location - although the amounts will vary based on which country it is

I’ve found it pays to get quotes from each entity to check out the best option on a case by case basis
