I just had a thought!.  I did not get anything in writing that I am receiving a comp  on my cruse.  I. didn't. even get the representatives name.  UGH.  Should I be worried or in your experience they follow through on what they say!.  Also I asked if she had my credit. card. on file and she said yes but I booked through Costco (hope I am allowed to say that). However have been on 6 prior cruises with Celebrity so they should have the credit cards we used for charges. on the ship etc.   Anything to be worried about?

Thanks Leesa

Regardless of your travel agent, it all gets charged by Celebrity so they should have the card on file that was used for your final payment. But do keep an eye on it to make sure you get the refund. Shouldn't be more than a week.

Another question how does a casino know how much we gamble?    I know they swipe our  sea  pass.

Thanks.

Leesa

Same as land casinos, you give your players card (sea pass card) at the tables or put in the slot machines and they track your play.

Just remembered one more thing. If you're playing slots, you'll accumulate redeemable points that you can convert to free play. Do it before the casino closes on the last night as it doesn't transfer to the next cruise. Only tier points follow you during the 18 month earning period. The casino people can explain how to redeem them right on the machine.

  I. play tables but my husband plays more slots than me.  However when he. does play. tables he seems to have more. luck. than me.  HA.  Sorry. for all the periods.  in. my message.  My keyboard is messed up.   LOL

Sailed 3 times on Celebrity cruises booked by BCC.

The deals varied and sometimes it was sometimes confusing dealing with them.

I booked my upcoming cruise on the Edge through an independent casino rep.

The deal was surprisingly, way better than ever offered by BCC and included all 4 perks.

Doesn't surprise me. I had a casino manager on one of the ships a year or two ago sit me down and tell me that he can't give me anything near what I should be getting because Corporate has his hands tied. He suggested I use a 3rd party host. He even took my info to give to one he said would get me what I deserve. Unfortunately, the guy never contacted me and I don't remember what his name was. But I since hooked up with a different one. Got me a free Alaska cruise in AQ.

I wish Blue Chip had a client site ... log in ... that I could look at my account without calling.  It would be nice to view my level, points, and perhaps even be presented with offers (if any).  Having to call only to get different answers each time is just sad.  I don't mind the  call to actually book or process anything, it's the call in the dark that I really dislike.

I have been inundated with email offers from Froom. I have no idea how he got my email address. Sounds like he's on the up and up though since you all are using him. What info did you give him to get you a free cabin?

Nothing. I'm assuming they got the info they needed from BCC.

I started getting emails from him a couple years ago.

in addition to cruises ,he sends promos on land based casinos.

My last cruise was 2016 so I figured he got me from a Las Vegas or AC database.

They did check my play level at Aria LV and Borgata AC before confirming my rate.

They were very responsive and so far I have no complaints.

There was one error made with my birthdate being entered incorrectly but that was rectified as soon as I caught it.

Probably a typo.

Ahh.. Forgot about the annual cruise benefit.

(I didn't inquire about it last year and probably lost it since the casino year ended dec2019 😞 )

so what are they giving as the annual cruise? Burmuda in the summer?

(I'm sapphire)

I don't think there is any consistency to what your offer might be compared to another (same level or not).  I get different offers than my friend who is same level as me and equally different than others that post about their offers.

Not sure if you are poking fun but Bermuda in the summer may not be so appealing to some but those are $$$$$$$$$$.  I would welcome that over some of the free cruise offers I have received ... ie an 11 day that circled back to my home in Nova Scotia and other ports that I can drive to  LOL ... no thanks ... but others wold likely love that.

Also, I'm not sure the 'annual cruise benefit' is directly translated to 'annual cruise'.  I went on more than one free offer last year that I got in mail/email.

If you learn a pattern , be sure to come back and share :)

is Ken Froom an external casino host?

ie: who comped you a sky suite? Blue Chip or Ken Froom?

The annual cruise benefit is the most confusing.

You could technically get a free cruise or money taken off your final payment. It all depends on your prior play. I recommend you call the Blue Chip club (search celebrity site) and ask them if they can adjust your final payment for what ever you're entitled to for the annual cruise benefit. Report back with what they give you!

note:

you dont get the annual free cruise benefit if you go on comped cruises from a 3rd party external casino host. (im Amethyst and didnt get one last year.)

furthermore, you dont get ANY free/discounted cruise offers directly from Blue Chip if using a 3rd party host.

i'm ok with the latter, but not the former.

the annual cruise is a listed benefit, similar to the $100 freeplay and 60min internet.

i earned that benefit! 😞

Yes he is an external(independent junket host)

Somehow I started getting emails from him and checked with his company about Celebrity.

It was Ken Froom tours that comped and booked my cruise.

They confirmed my play and sent me the pricing.

They sent me the line of credit app and I paid them directly.

So far so good. I have not worked with them before but the pre cruise stuff has been smooth.

I will report back to see if there are any hiccups.

thx for the info!

were you using another external host before you went with Ken?

(just wondering if he's better than another popular 3rd party host, UrComp)

I am familiar with UrComped but have not used them .

Since Ken Froom reached out to me I figured I would give him a shot at my business.

i have friends in the business who were familiar with Kens company and said they are solid .

My last several cruises were BCC and this deal was better although the most recent was 4 years ago.

The issue with getting comped on cruise ships is some things are out of your control.

If you have a port intensive itinerary ,it is more difficult to get enough casino time in.

I play more dice than BJ and they don’t usually open the dice table until evening which runs into dinner and entertainment.

in Vegas or AC I can play at 8 am or anytime .

I have 3 sea days on my upcoming Edge Cruise , so I will sea what they offer me after this cruise.

Ill report back.

I have received many email offers from Ken Froom for the last five or six months.  They started appearing a couple of months after a 5 day stay at Atlantis, Paradise Island so I assume this trip might have triggered them.  I haven't used any of them as I have a NCM host for Caesars/Harrahs properties and another junketing rep that has set me up for many cruises.  Both of these people have been very responsive and gotten me better deals than the initial offers from casinos or cruise companies so I don't plan on dumping them.

Hey another question. Our April 1st cruise out of Dubai is iffy now.  Celebrity has changed our debarkation port from Rome to Barcelona which I am fine with.  We are given the option to cancel the cruise and get future cruise credit. If we choose to cancel the cruise will we be able to go back to Blue Chip Club and request another annual cruise chip benefit. Since we will lose the annual cruise chip benefit on this cruise. I hope this makes sense.   Leesa

Good question. I would think so but as with everything with BCC, it's a crapshoot. Let us know the outcome if you call them.

What was the benefit from BCC that you received on this cruise that you might cancel?

We received $200 a day which came up to $3000.  At this point we still plan on going on our cruise leaving Dubai but the cruise before us has just been cancelled the 3/17/2020 cruise. Our April 1st cruise leaves Dubai, Muscat, Oman, Jordan, then travel through the Suez Canal, Athens, (we were then to go to Katakolon, Greece then depart Rome). Now no Katalolon and departing from Barcelona.  If cruise is cancelled hopefully still be able to get another annual cruise benefit because we didn't actually get benefit because we didn't get to go on the cruise.  What do you think?

Our Dubai April 1st cruise just got cancelled.   We are now looking at a May 30th cruise out of Southampton 14 nights.  Before I book (we use Costco Travel) should I call BCC to see what benefit we would get hoping it will be the same $200 a night.  If so the cost of the cruise with all 4 perks in Concierge and the 25% FCC would bring it down to around $2800 for both of us instead of the $7100.  Also would I have to book through BCC which I would if we get this same benefit or can use Costco.  Thanks for any advice.

Leesa
