Corona virus/Travel Insurance

I just received an email that included helpful facts about travel insurance and Corona virus.

 

I don't think posting the information from the email sender violates Cruise Critic rules about third party travel sites, but if it  does please remove (Hint: I am also posting this in Viking Ocean and the insurance forum)

Good reason to buy HAL's CPP or CPPP Cancel For Any Reason protection ... but it's too late for that if you are already past the final payment date.

WHO  has declared a world health emergency and a  travel insurance  company refuses the claim?  If that is  insufficient proof for them than what  is"bad enough" ??

Not really, because is not a covered reason in most policies.  Kind of like if your provider goes broke, that is also not a covered reason in most policies.

 

That is why you are seeing the cruise lines refund people that have been in China that they will not let board, because those folks would not be covered by most travel insurance.  They are not refunding  those that show a fever and are denied boarding because illness is a covered reason for most travel insurance policies.
