Barbados is still dealing with the odd Covid case, here and there as we hope to get it under control enough to be placed on the UK's Green List for visitors. Aplmac Posted June 6, 2021 Author #129 Share Posted June 6, 2021 Good News on the Covid versus Cruising front! At 4 p.m. Saturday local Barbados Gov't. officials spent 45 mins. on TV explaining a small further easing of Covid restrictions: in that Supermarkets, MiniMarts and small shops will be permitted to open on Sundays, when the current directive expires at the end of this weekend. I.e. they'll be opening next weekend, not this one. But far better than that.. is the news that an X-Celebrity ship is boarding pax at Sint Maarten, and making Barbados their first port of call on Monday 7th. June 2021. There are something like 630 people on board: nowhere near full capacity! I imagine that figure is passengers, not including crew? Talk of bubble tours, etc. Everyone on board is vaccinated, both passengers and crew. Way to GO! This sounds like a test cruise, to see What Gives and how it goes. But it's a start -and it's our first cruise ship with real cruise passengers in quite some time now!
Aplmac Posted June 9, 2021 Author #130 Share Posted June 9, 2021 Update -as of June 7th. Some semblance of normality is resuming, in daily life - even though we still have to wear the ruddy mask to do business with a gas station or a restaurant drive-thru!

Based on one number I'm familiar with, Puerto Rico, it's one or more doses, not fully vaccinated. The Barbados number also looks like one dose based on stats posted just prior to this.
