Another Coronavirus questions. I know i have read somewhere about various cruise lines not allowing people to board anywhere from 14-30 days if they have been to china. We cruise in just over 4 weeks and i myself have not gotten that email.  That brings me to another question. Has embarkation slowed down any trying to filter out the people that missed the memo.

I read about the ship that was in lock down one lady said breakfast finally arrived at 2;00 pm i bet that was dreadful for the crew as well as the customers.

This is what NCL say:

Guests who have traveled from, visited or transited via airports in China, including Hong Kong and Macau, within 30 days of their voyage embarkation, regardless of nationality, will not be allowed to board any of our vessels. The standard incubation period recognized by the WHO and US CDC for this virus is 14 days.

Guests who are denied boarding will be issued a refund when they provide proof of travel.

The fleet is in a "no self service" mode, so you will be served at the buffet, I can't imagine why anyone would not get served breakfast until 2pm,

Live report from the Encore reports self serve mode has resumed.

The breakfast was delivered as everyone on the quarantined ship must stay in their cabins. I was just reading some of the comments and it is not a good situation for some in inside cabins. Just reinforces my resolve in never booking any cabin without a balcony.

Not good, but that's not an NCL ship which the OP asked about.

Even though this was not a NCL ship , it certainly could happen. We have been in anywhere from an inside cabin to suite.  In the event of being quarantined i would hope that is the cruise i had a balcony. Also now i now why i bring a book to read and a color book.  I will certainly add extra medication to my list.

I wouldn't worry too much about long lines and delays with upcoming Jade sailings in Asia with the anxiety/panic/fear/ban/denied boarding and strict border control/transit policies being enforced by various countries - another case of NIMB syndrome, HK is no longer in play about where to setup temporary quarantine housing ... with 25 confirmed cases vs. almost 20,000 confirmed case in Hubei / Wuhan region.  Between the self cancellations, no-shows, unable to make/rebook/reroute flight connections, denied entries by immigration due to recent travel history, those reported as not feeling well and anxiety attacks - it's a good time to do those upgrade bids, not much competition for the high end cabins (sure, right, just kidding 👴 :classic_rolleyes: 🤞 )

One of MSC's ship sailing in the China region apparently disembarked all their passengers most recently, cancelled the subsequent ones and sailed out with crews only - running donuts for 2 weeks and expected to be a clean ship next week, after 14+ days being self-isolated - drastically cutting down the odds of crew members unsuspectingly catching the virus.   Gentling's World Dream crew & passengers are still being held and tested at HK's Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, unable to disembark pending additional screening, testing & approval to leave (with 90% of the passengers being HK residents ... not welcomed to go home, not yet.)  To add insult, perhaps not, ship turned off access to free WiFi and are said to be providing only basic/essential services - plus, the casino has to remain closed.  Nearby at Macau, all the land casinos were ordered by local officials to close & stay shut for next 2 weeks as part of their strategies to contain the spread.

I recommend stocking/bring along at least 3 extra week's worth of medicine or Rx supplies when traveling these days, in consideration of the panic and fear about this virus.  As in my own NIMS all hazards disaster management training, not a bad idea to have 3 days supply of MRE, just in case there is a shortage of edible food.  I surely hope NCL is well stocked with potable water and had a solid inventory of "Just Water" for sale.

Net citizens in HK fueled the rumors yesterday, resulting in another run to the supermarkets & stores to stock up on toilet papers ... and even a race to grab sanitary napkins, to turn them into makeshift facial filters, LOL.

As for those cruising in the US/Bahamas/Caribbea/Mexico - odds are slim that cruisers originating from mainland China can leave/fly anywhere from their hometown airport - not to mention that CBP in the US has revoked or cancelled all of their visitor's visas, turning them away at the port of entry.

Yes but have you seen the onboard footage it's crazy........... many are sitting around tables in groups frantically playing Mahjong like nothing happened, except the face masks.
