Pizza quality?

Recommended Posts

On Anthem last October, I had a slice one night that was quite good.  It was thin and similar to many eat coast pizzaria slices I've had.  The next night, my slice was thicker and somewhere in the region of truly awful to inedible. Not that thick and thin distinguisues pizza quality, I've had thicker crust that was really good, this wasnt. I asked about the thin pizza I'd had the night before and was told something like: "we don't make that any more."

I can't speak for Oasis right now as it has now been three years. However, when I was on Adventure last year I thought there was a big improvement in the pizza. When I was on Adventure two weeks ago the improvements were gone and the pizza was just as bad as past years.

Any recommendations for Rome?  Flying out Saturday for a quick 6 day trip with my daughter.

Princess lido deck/buffet pizza is the best pizza I have ever had on a cruise ship, anywhere.  Almost land-based neighborhood pizzeria quality.  Pizza on Royal ships with Sorrento's, at least on the Anthem and Freedom, is edible and pretty good for being free, but not as good as Princess.  Now compare Sorrento's with the sit-down pizzerias on the promenade decks on ships like the Grand Princess, they are about equal.  The quality and style of the pizzas there is different from the lido buffet stuff for some reason on Princess.  Both are better than Norwegian's and Carnival's though, and I do have to say that at peak times, they keep the lines moving very well at Sorrento's with always having fresh pizzas out and a decent variety of stuff to choose from.
