winewanderer Posted February 13, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 13, 2020 Hello, Hope everyone did well this week. Valentine's Day tomorrow. No candy in our house...…. I stayed the same, wah wah. Diana
Cruiser_1977 Posted February 13, 2020 #2 Share Posted February 13, 2020 Thanks Diana! Candy at work but have luckily avoided that. My folks were here on Monday night and of course brought me my favorite chocolates (they live near a Mennonite/Amish shop that has wonderful goodies)! I have avoided those as well. I stayed the same but just started my new plan on Monday so wasn't expecting any real change. Hopefully, next week when my body has had time to adjust there will be change. Wishing everyone a wonderful week, Jenny
pacruise804 Posted February 13, 2020 #3 Share Posted February 13, 2020 Thanks for starting us Diana! At least you and Jenny maintained (great job with the discipline Jenny) - unfortunately I had a small gain of 1.4# 😡 I probably underestimated calories when we had our soup & salad night Sunday and yesterday was a heavy day with DS birthday. I'm trying not to get discouraged and instead learn from last weeks mistakes and get back on track. This weeks stats: Start: 208.6 (1/9/20) This week: 206.6 Goal 5/14 (next cruise): 20# loss - 18# remaining Goal 10/22 (just after 25th anniversary): another 25# loss Goal end of year: finish weight of 155# Really need to see a loss next week 😞
Cruiser_1977 Posted February 13, 2020 #4 Share Posted February 13, 2020 I love seeing your goals @pacruise804! You got this 🙂
RobinCruiser Posted February 13, 2020 #5 Share Posted February 13, 2020 Good morning everyone! Thanks for getting us started Diana. Good job on no gain. Same for you Jenny, and avoiding the goodies. Sorry to hear of your gain pacruise - hopefully your will be back on track next week. Seeing your goals like that is a good inspiration. 🙂 I am down .2. Not much but I'll take it. No candy in my house either. Or treats. We are doing better so far with healthy eating. Thanks to everyone for their kind words regarding DH. He was diagnosed as borderline diabetic, overweight and has a fatty liver so he needs to lose weight, cut out sugar and treats and all should be well again. So far so good.
Jan_In_Maine Posted February 13, 2020 #6 Share Posted February 13, 2020 Hi all ..... Sorry for gain pacruise ... Robin I would take the .2 ... congratulations! All the rest of us are "stay the samers" .... which isn't too bad .... I will take it. I really thought I would gain this week as I discovered there were mini hershey bars in the freezer from Halloween. I ate 5 ... they are now all gone. Time to get serious about being healthy! Good luck to all this week. Jan
liketraveling Posted February 13, 2020 #7 Share Posted February 13, 2020 congrats to those who have stayed the same and have had to deal with candy being around and being able to stay away. Good for those who have started over. Congrats on choosing to get back on track. This week I am down 1.4.
winewanderer Posted February 14, 2020 Author #8 Share Posted February 14, 2020 Jenny and Jan, staying the same is ok. Pacruise, sorry for the gain. Robin, glad you had a loss. Small but in the right direction. Hubby is taking me out tonight for chicken tacos. Not too horrible calories/fat wise...…. Diana
pacruise804 Posted February 14, 2020 #9 Share Posted February 14, 2020 Happy Valentines Day everyone ❤️ I hope you all feel very loved even if you can't be with your loved one. Tonight I'm making pasta carbonara for my guys, so I'll have to be sure to have a big salad too and keep my portion small. Lots of walking this week, strength training Wednesday and another session tomorrow. The sun is finally shining today even if the temperatures are a lot colder 🙂
Jan_In_Maine Posted February 14, 2020 #10 Share Posted February 14, 2020 Pacruise - I love pasta carbonara ... it is so good ... but do understand about the big salad!!! Today I came downstairs to my computer and found a lovely homemade card from DH ... So sweet!. Jan
winewanderer Posted February 14, 2020 Author #11 Share Posted February 14, 2020 Happy Valentine's Day. Pacruise, your dinner sounds scrumptious. Hubby is making me a pasta dish with shrimp for dinner, broccoli on the side. Jan, what a nice surprise from your hubby. Awww. Have a nice evening everyone. melmar02 Posted February 15, 2020 #12 Share Posted February 15, 2020 Hi all! We just got back into town this afternoon so I don't have an "official" post cruise number yet. I did step on the scale before dinner, and I think I'll be pleased...well as pleased as I can be after eating out for 11 days! We kept the party going and ordered pizza for dinner, but the grocery list is started and it's back to being good tomorrow! I'll check back in the morning once I weigh myself.
melmar02 Posted February 15, 2020 #13 Share Posted February 15, 2020 I gained 3.2 pounds over our vacation. Not too bad considering how long we were gone and the pizza last night! Today it's back to low carb and transitioning back to intermittent fasting.

cheride Posted February 16, 2020 #15 Share Posted February 16, 2020 Hope everyone had a good valentine day, sounds like any indulgences weren’t too crazy, so that’s great. We’ve still got Christmas candy sitting around, so no need for more here, though I did splurge on a piece of chocolate cake. 🤷🏻♀️ Congrats to those who lost and maintained, but also a shout out to those who are still here posting when the scale isn’t cooperating. We all know that’s the hard part, but we also know it won’t be that way forever, so keep keeping on. I finally broke through losing the same few pounds over and over this year and had a 2.2 loss for the week. Trying to stay focused. Got a short girls’ weekend in about a month and I’d like to drop another 3.5 by then if possible. We’ll see how diligent I can be about my working out! Have a great week!

Belle Posted February 17, 2020 #17 Share Posted February 17, 2020 Hello All! Haven't been able to use internet. Belated Happy Valentine's Day! Doing pretty good eating wise but not so good casino wise! Sounds like you all are doing pretty good. Hope you all are having a good week. Wishing all a good weigh-in.
winewanderer Posted February 17, 2020 Author #18 Share Posted February 17, 2020 Belle, thanks for your post. Glad you're having a good time even though the Casino is not cooperating. Happy cruising...….. Diana
Mommyof3sweetboys Posted February 18, 2020 #19 Share Posted February 18, 2020 Feeling like the weight loss/gain scenario just isn't fair! How can I gain 2 lbs from one weekend of travelling, but not lose 2 lbs. in one weekend? 🙃 We took a trip to Memphis and thoroughly enjoyed Beale Street. Obviously, too much when I stepped on the scale Monday morning! Back on track and hoping those 2 lbs fall off as quickly as they went on. (but not holding my breath on that!)
winewanderer Posted February 19, 2020 Author #20 Share Posted February 19, 2020 Mommyof3, I feel your pain. Hopefully your small gain will come off soon. Hope everyone is having a good week. I certainly hope to post a loss on Thursday but at least I don't want to gain. I tried on some "cruise clothes" and everything is fitting a little looser. That's great. Cruise time for me in about 3 weeks. Have a good evening. Diana
IRMO12HD Posted February 19, 2020 #21 Share Posted February 19, 2020 I think I posted in the 'wrong' section -- I was reading the Thursday 1/20/20 Weigh-In post, and replied there -- but probably should have put it here, so am re-posting (since I couldn't figure out how to move my post . . . Hello! I'm definitely a latecomer to the group, but would love to join. I'm really impressed by the caring support you show each other. We are heading out on a 21-day cruise in April through the Panama Canal on Norwegian Bliss (NYC-Seattle), and I've been working on establishing good habits (and losing some pounds as well). I noticed that at least one of you mentioned Noom -- I'm a recent convert to it, and am really happy with it. I find its focus on dividing foods up into groups based on calorie density really works for me. I tried Ideal Protein about 3 years ago, and although I lost lots of weight (almost 55 pounds) in about 7 months, my kidneys didn't like it (dips in kidney function) and I gained it all back -- with a vengeance. I also like the support structure Noom provides -- a combination of psychology, science, and sociology, as they say. My goals: Weight when I started with Noom (Jan 28): 217 Current weight: 211 Goal #1 (start of cruise is April 19): 199 Goal #2 (end of cruise is May 10): 195 (being realistic -- I won't have access to Noom continuously throughout the cruise, and will have lots of temptation -- of course, I'll be doing LOTS of walking, and LOTS of stairs!) Goal #3 (64th birthday is in August): 180 Exercise Goals: Go to Gold's Gym at least 3x / week for water aerobics and swimming, my cardio and arms workout routine, or some other hour-long activity Walk at least 30 minutes a day, 6 days a week Walk 18 holes of golf (hilly course!) at least once a week starting in March -- substitute walking around the Bliss in April and May! Diana (too!)
