yvrbos Posted February 18, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 18, 2020 I have noticed that people seem to know how many ships will be in port. Is there a website that I can go to in order to figure this out? I will be sailing aboard the January 9th, 2021 sailing aboard the Summit.
Rare mom says Posted February 18, 2020 #2 Share Posted February 18, 2020 I use cruisetimetables.com or look at the individual ports website.
GastroGnome Posted February 18, 2020 #3 Share Posted February 18, 2020 (edited) Almost all ports have published schedules and they appear on a wide range of 3rd party websites as well. So google your first port of call and "cruise schedule". For example I think you sail from San Juan so if you google "San Juan cruise schedule" you get pages like this https://www.cruisetimetables.com/fromsanjuanpuertorico-09jan2021.html showing there are 4 vessels in port. St Thomas I can't find yet - quite possibly becuase 2021 isn't on a schedule yet - but you can get pages like this http://crew-center.com/st-thomas-charlotte-amalie-usvi-cruise-ship-schedule-january-june-2020 And so on. TeaBag Posted February 18, 2020 #4 Share Posted February 18, 2020 I use the individual ports too.
JBare Posted February 18, 2020 #5 Share Posted February 18, 2020 (edited) I use Cruisemapper.com, so for example It also shows where all the cruise ships currently are. Edited February 18, 2020 by JBare
Langley Cruisers Posted February 18, 2020 #6 Share Posted February 18, 2020 (edited) I don't think any one website is completely infallible, but I like the one below - I find it very user friendly. 😊 http://www.cruisecal.com/portal/ItineraryLookup/tabid/2918/Default.aspx Find your ship and the date, and you'll see who is in port with you. EDITED TO ADD - here, I did it for you because I had time.http://www.cruisecal.com/portal/ItineraryPrint/tabid/2919/Default.aspx?sailID=CELSM1/9/2021 Edited February 18, 2020 by Langley Cruisers 1
Fouremco Posted February 18, 2020 #7 Share Posted February 18, 2020 While all of the listed sites are handy and usually pretty accurate, I like to verify using the website of the port authority. Just Google "port authority [name of port]". Last summer, the port authority for Bergen was showing us stopping at Bergen Port, the commercial dock at the South end of the harbour, while the cruise line and these other sites showed us stopping at the International Cruise Port at the North end. Similar to Crown Bay vs Havensight in St. Thomas, the difference can have quite an impact on your planning for your day ashore.
yvrbos Posted February 18, 2020 Author #8 Share Posted February 18, 2020 Thank you for all your help. It looks like St. Thomas will be our heavy traffic day with 5 ships in town. The rest looks doable. We want to find a quiet beach so this might be a bit of a challenge!

It's a very short walk over to the Water Island Ferry. Take the quick ferry ride over to Water Island and enjoy one of the quieter beaches. https://www.*****/waterisland/gettingthere_wi/ Looks like CC doesn't like that link. Just Google water island ferry. Edited February 18, 2020 by Fouremco

That will really help with the port load and the cable cars. 👍
