Sailing on the Carnival Sunshine next week, should I bring an iron or will there be one available in our room?

Many Thanks

There are no irons in the cabins on any Carnival ship. It's against their rules(maybe regulations as well). There ARE irons in the laundry rooms found on each ship. If you bring an iron, chances are it will be confiscated from you when you go through security. Best leave it at home. Oh. The use of the iron in the laundry is free.

Thanks for the info, has anyone brought the small hand held steamer to remove wrinkles?

Here is the list of a few of the prohibited items...

  • Electrical and household appliances containing any kind of heating element, such as irons, clothes steamers, immersion heaters, heating blankets, water heaters, coffee machines, hot plates, toasters, heating pads, humidifier, etc. (All Carnival ships provide facilities with ironing boards and irons; fleet-wide valet laundry service is also available for a nominal fee.)

Some people have good results with Downey Wrinkle Release or hang in bathroom with steam from shower.

That's what we take along, and it does a good job.

Hand held steamers are on the restricted list.

Yes, and there's a reason for restricting items with electrical heating elements.  For one thing they draw a lot of current, if many people used them at the same time it could well cause problems (as in circuit breakers tripping, which would be a big inconvenience to a lot of passengers).  And if left unattended a fire could start, which is a HUGE problem on a ship.

You can try to bring one...but most likely, you will be able to pick it up in the "naughty room" when you disembark. They will leave you a note in your luggage telling you what they confiscated.

While everyone is standing in line for the buffet upon embankment, you can find me in the laundry room doing my ironing.  NEVER has there been a line in that room......LOL

Now THAT is a GREAT idea Bob! Thanks for the tip! 👍
