Royal Princess Bound for Subic Bay Philippines

Looks like Royal Princess is taking crew members back to the Philippines.  It docked in San Pedro today and looking at the AIS Marine Traffic site it looks like Star, Grand and the Eurodam all looped thru the Harbor and transferred crew members.  Does anyone have more details or news?

Unfortunately, if the ship is out of range of a shore-based AIS receiving station,

the messages become stale.    Good to check the time stamp.

There are satellite based systems that receive the AIS messages, but I haven't

found one that is free.

Google says the trip is about 7300 miles.

That's quite a trip.  Personally, I would be afraid of the bar bill at the end...

The Eurodam is also headed there from LA.

Captain Jonathan (HAL WC on the Amsterdam) says they were going to Batam to drop Indonesian crew, but are now going to Singapore for fuel/provisions first.

I just noticed on the Princess web cams and MarineTraffic AIS that Sapphire and Majestic are also destined for the Philippines, interestingly the Sapphire shows destination Manila vice Subic Bay.  They are close together above Brunei so they should get there long before Royal and the Carnival and HAL ships.

Received email from a crew member in the P.I.  Those 6 Princess Ships nestled around the Bahama will be transshipping the Filipino Crew on to Crown and Island Princess and heading east, going around South Africa and expecting to take 32 days.  On arrival , both ships will be quarantine for 14 days and then release to go home and then again required another 14 days quarantine at home.  Date of departure not yet disclosed.

Currently, Majestic, Sapphire, Sea and Sun Princess are anchored around Manila anchorages, doing their 14 days quarantine.  Also along side of Sea and Sun is the Queen Elizabeth.

Here's the view from Majestic.  Looks like our friends are on their way home (after their 14 day quarantine):

Sun, Sea, Sapphire, Majestic, Voyager OTS, the old Dawn Princess (P&O Pacific Explorer), and QE2
