kalinedrive Posted June 24, 2020 #1 Share Posted June 24, 2020 Heading to Hawaii - hopefully - in 18 months on this cruise from Hawaii. Looking for typical information/services for laundry on this to ship to help build my travel budget. Thanks in advance for your help. Dave
RuthC Posted June 24, 2020 #2 Share Posted June 24, 2020 At the time HAL shut down, these were the prices (they may or may not be increased when sailing resumes): A bag of laundry, washed, dried and folded/returned on hangers was $20 ($30 in Europe). An unlimited amount, which is as many bags as you care to send, on any and all days you care to send it, was priced at $7 per day, times the number of days in your cruise ($9/day in Europe). There is also a 'per item' price, but I don't know the amounts, other than the prices add up fast! You are not able to send laundry out the last day of the cruise, as they need time to do the laundry, get it back to you, and let you pack. You may send laundry on embarkation day. Rare kazu Posted June 24, 2020 #3 Share Posted June 24, 2020 Ruth has covered it perfectly for you 🙂 I will just add that of course, the cost is per cabin not per person 😉
Rare rafinmd Posted June 24, 2020 #4 Share Posted June 24, 2020 Just in case, but if you happen to be in a suite it's all complementary. Roy

Roy Just to clarify - Neptune Suite and above. Vista and Signature suites do NOT qualify for free laundry IME.
IPB4IGO Posted June 24, 2020 #7 Share Posted June 24, 2020 Even when we have to pay for it, we get the $7/day unlimited laundry. It means we only need to pack a few changes of clothes, since we get our laundry back the next day, sometimes even the same day. When you are paying hundreds of dollars a day for a cabin, the $7 is just not a significant, less than the cost of a drink.
AtlantaCruiser72 Posted June 25, 2020 #8 Share Posted June 25, 2020 Agree - the Unlimited laundry plan is the way to go. We loved getting the blue bags of nicely pressed hanging laundry and folded clothes in a wicker basket (nicely wrapped in tissue and held closed with a gold HAL logo seal) each day. Usually the laundry had a nice handwritten note from a member of the Laundry team included. Made my vacation that much more carefree and "special" feeling. If HAL do not increase the pricing it would be $119 for the 17 day cruise or $126 if doing the 18 day cruise - money well, WELL spent!!!!!!!!!! It significantly reduces the stress of packing and cramming more clothes into a suitcase. We've done this on 10 and 11 day cruises (including Koningsdam in January) and this is an exceptional service. I just added a note to put a crease in pants. PigsCanFly Posted June 26, 2020 #10 Share Posted June 26, 2020 We were on the Noordam in Alaska and the Zuiderdam in the Panama Canal/Southern Carib. and used the unlimited laundry package on each. We are booked on the Eurodam in Feb 2021 and have the same package selected for that. $99 for the stateroom for 14 day cruise. Makes the pre-cruise packing much quicker.
