I don't know enough about them to tell the difference. It is actually Riviera, but based on that photo of mine, I don't know any way to determine which one of those two it is either. Here's the proof from later that day after Costa Mediterranea had joined the party and we were preparing to tender back to QM2.

I can't say I recognized the port of Port-Vendres, France or that it would have even made my short list of ports to check. I went looking for information on that other ship in your photo, Cala Portese. I found she's been spending most of her time in the far east but I did find a photo of her that was taken at Port-Vendres and everything fell neatly into place after that. It would appear he was on that same voyage as you after reading your blog "Notes from a QV cruise - Rome to Southampton". 😉
Host Hattie Posted September 13, 2020 Author #684 Share Posted September 13, 2020 I wasn't going to post this as I thought it would be too difficult but having seen the detective skills on this thread it probably won't last the afternoon 😃

bluemarble Posted September 13, 2020 #687 Share Posted September 13, 2020 (edited) Not sure exactly where it would be then, but your attachment file name is "IMG_20180907_151333_1.jpg" which tells me it was taken on September 7, 2018 and QV called at Rapallo on that date. Host Hattie Posted September 13, 2020 Author #688 Share Posted September 13, 2020 That's interesting, the date is correct (obviously) but the itinerary at the time showed us calling at Santa Margherita Ligure. We weren't alongside but we definitely tendered into Santa Margherita, not Rapallo. They are very close though.

bluemarble Posted September 13, 2020 #690 Share Posted September 13, 2020 I need to correct my itineraries then. The one I was using is from an online website. But the hard copy Cunard brochure I have for 2018 does say Santa Margherita, Italy.

Rare david,Mississauga Posted September 13, 2020 #692 Share Posted September 13, 2020 For a change, this is not a Canadian port. No points for guessing the country.

That photo from Santa Margherita and all the itinerary details are in your "Notes from Queen Victoria to the Mediterranean" thread. Now back to trying to figure out sogne's and carlmm's latest puzzles. I've been working on those for several hours now but making no progress so far.

The excursion we took on that replica Viking boat was most interesting. Because it carries only about 10 passengers it is not booked through Cunard but through the tourist office.
