All Inclusive recommendation

Hi all - this is somewhat cruise related as I am looking at alternate plans if cruises don't  start up  after the first of the year.

Can you  recommend a  good AI, maybe somewhere  in Mexico or  Punta Cana,  although I'll take other suggestions.  I don't care if they allow kids, or it can be adult only.    And, if any offer evening entertainment, that would be a plus.

There are so many options our there, I don't know where to start.

Thanks

M

We have done lots of AI resorts by far best was in sandals they have lots of locations in Caribbean but do not believe they are in locations you listed. We did do Hard Rock in Punta Cana and it wasn’t as nice as Sandals, it is huge with a casino.

We've done a few.   Stayed at an Excellence in Punta Cana, and it was very nice.   Large pool, many themed restaurants (French, Italian, etc).   Had different types of entertainment at night ranging to small bands to a Circus type evening.   Beach was not very good though.

Have also stayed at Couples Swept Away in Negril, Jamaica.   Have stayed there twice, and we are going back next year.   Absolutely love this place.  Best beach by far!!!!   Nice pools and a couple of formal restaurants.   Again, various types of entertainment each night, with the Steel Drum Band being my favorite!!!

We went to Riu Caribe in Cancun (first time in Cancun) in August when our cruises got canceled and really enjoyed it.  Going again for 11 nights in October since our B2B on Freedom got canceled.

In Punta Cana, we have been going to Grand Palladium Punta Cana for years (only land vacation we used to take).  Been there 9 times and love it.  We were going to go back to Punta Cana on Friday since our cruise got canceled again, but Palladium is still closed, so we are going to try Riu Palance Bavaro and see how it goes.

I feel that the most under-rated yet most beautiful Mexican city for a tourist to enjoy the beach, enjoy locals for food and entertainment, and have an amazing vacation is Zihuatanejo. Google "Thompson Beach Resort Zihuatanejo"... it's directly on Playa La Ropa, consistently voted one of the top 10 beaches in all of the Caribbean and central Americas.

For a 6-star ultra luxury, look at "Le Blanc" in Cancun, voted as the 2nd best Spa resort in the Caribbean and central Americas.

For a 4-star less expensive, look at the Bahia Principe Akumal or Coba, between Playa Del Carmen and Tulum.

The Hotel Riu Palace in Cabo is another good choice. Riu just bought the property next door about 2 years ago, refurbished the building and grounds, and made it adults only.... calling it the Riu Baja California. I've stayed at both. I love the grounds at the Palace, but loved the food and not having kids around at the Baja California.

A ton of pictures on line of all of the above so won't bother adding any of mine.

I absolutely love love love Zihuatanejo

We have done several; Sandals, Secrets and most recently Excellence.  Last month we went to the Excellence in Cancun (PM), was the best AI that we have stayed at so far.

Highly recommend that Excellence property.  Service was outstanding, best we have ever experienced in any vacation.  Food was very good, better than most RCCL food.  Resort was impeccable!  Cost was comparable to 7n balcony with drink package.

We are already trying to figure out when we can go back in the next 60 days.

If you're not dead-set on leaving the U.S., you may want to consider the following resort. My nephew just returned from there for a bachelor party and said the place is awesome! Not all inclusive for meals but the resort has lots of included amenities and most favorite places are within walking distance or a short bike ride (provided by the resort) away!

A Tropical & Tranquil

RETREAT IN ISLAMORADA

A Florida Keys favorite for beach-lovers and boaters, Postcard Inn Beach Resort and Marina in Islamorada is located just minutes from Key Largo and a short drive from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Key West. This iconic oceanfront resort blends the retro, throwback atmosphere of a nostalgic American beach vacation with modern amenities like Wi-Fi, iPod docks, and flat-screen TVs.

We just stayed at Excellence Playa Mujeres (Cancun) last week.  Was the nicest adult only place I have ever personally been.  Beautiful property, beach and pools, great food and drinks, and the staff went above and beyond.  No time shares, no visitor/day passes, just pure relaxation.  Five star and top notch all around.
