2022 Cruises - 'registering interest'

Hi, does the 'registering interest' procedure happen every year? Is there an advantage to registering as early possible?

I've just noticed it says this on the P&O website: Tuesday 3 November 2020 - Register your interest from 8.30am on Tuesday 3 November to 8pm Sunday 8 November 2020 (on Sunday 8 November, you will only be able to register your interest on our website.)

I was surprised by the bit in bold, as I thought you could only register your interest on their website anyway - do people phone them up to register?

Thanks.

You can pre register either direct with P&O or with your TA but unless you want an accessible stateroom or single stateroom or a particular suite dont think there is any real benefit of pre registering. The down side of pre registering with P&O is they will not allow you to pick a stateroom number just a grade and they choose actual stateroom within that grade. If you pre register with a TA you can give them a number of stateroom numbers you would be happy to book and they will try and get one of those staterooms.

No advantage in registering early, especially if you use your regular TA.  We always have a good browse of the itineraries, then give our TA a list of interest, they get back with prices, then we make a decision before the end of pre-registering, and our TA always gets us the cabin we want and at the agreed price when they go on sale.

All pretty painless really, apart from having to pay.

I hope its 5% also.We want

to get a low deposir in on Arcadia to Iceland as a banker to cover us on our one booked in 21 on Aurora which we will probably pull out of due to onboard restrictions being in place.

if we wait till D day in April when we would have to pay for 2021 more than likely the 2022 one will be dearer by then and the better choices of the restricted view outsides which can be a good price are all gone.

Will it be a low deposit of 5% for the summer 2022 season ?

Just noticed a statement on the P&O site that the 5% deposit will be available on all cruises of 19 days or less booked before November 30th. So yes!

Opps...just also noticed that it refers to cruises up to April 2022 - but that might be because there aren’t any cruises currently for sale beyond that date. Hopefully it will be extended before 9th November.
