Anthem UK cruises in the summer?

We were on a B2B in July and had the details about getting PCR test approximately 12 days before, we have just returned from the 8 day cruise but didn’t receive that PCR email until 6 days before and that is where things got complicated as when we tried to sign into the Eurofin site it kept redirecting us to our July cruise tests so had to book the August tests by ringing Eurofin directly (40 minute wait). Had trouble accessing the results as again it kept showing us our July cruise results. Apparently both RCCL and Eurofin hadn’t counted on people booking multiple cruises.

we are hoping they have sorted the problem out by now as whilst onboard last week we booked another B2B on 5th & 12th September so wondering when we will receive the details for testing for this one🤔😧🙏

Well we have just got our PCR test email. I phoned RCL this morning (50 minutes until answered) to be told it takes about 24 hours from booking. By following the link from the email everything worked and we were able to book our test. However the TrustOne App I had downloaded for our earlier cruise kept just referencing that old cruise and did not show the future one, so I cleared the App’s storage then I could reset the App pin and password and when I logged in it showed the future cruise.

I keep getting emails reminding me to register for the pre-cruise test. I’ve booked with Boots due to the locations of Eurofins. Do I still have to register with Eurofins?  I’m starting to worry I’ve done something wrong.

Has anyone coming frmo outside the UK been able to register for the test at the cruise terminal on day of departure?  If so, can you please share what link you got, or what you said to a phone rep to get the correct thing?

over 6 hours total on hold, 3 phone calls and a half dozen emails have still not netted me a link which actually works to do that and we sail in 12 days.  I am starting to lose sleep over fears of being denied boarding even though we are as on top if it as we possibly can be and RCI is not getting us the proper link.  ARGH!

PCR TESTING. I will share what happened to us yesterday.  Please dont judge, as we followed the emails.

We were denied boarding yesterday.

It was heartbreaking, upsetting, we were given our suitcases escorted out of the departure lounge  - no discussion, nothing.  We were left stranded without easy access our car and shocked.  No one wanted to help us we were ushered out like criminals.  The reason - my 17 year old daughter had not provided a 72 hour PCR test!!  Before anyone judges this is what happened.

We booked last minute on 13 August.  On 14 August we received our emails saying all guests between 2 and 17 needed a PCR test asking us to book via the link provided to eurofins.  I followed the link and booked my test.  i followed the link to book my daughters test and it said she needed to have her test at the port.  I ‘assumed’ this was correct and didnt think to question it, as there was no problem when we cruised with them in July.

I went along to have my test - my daughter even came with me!  It makes no sense whatsoever for me to book mine and not book my daughter’s.  Why would I do that - no one would.

I received nothing to say I had not registered my daughters test.  I had an email thanking me for booking my test.

On 17 August I received 2 emails -  one for me, one for my daughter.  Both saying Your Healthy Cruise Update. It says the following

Testing
Vaccinated guests must bring the negative result of an rt-PCR test taken within 72 hours of sailing. We will email instructions on how to register for your complimentary test approximately 14-18 days before your cruise.

Unvaccinated guests, 2-17 years old, must take a complimentary rapid antigen test at the terminal and receive a negative result in order to sail. We will email instructions on how to register in advance approximately 14-18 days before your cruise.

Nothing on that email said about unvaccinated guests needing a PCR test.  Again this misled me into believing all was good and that my daughter, as stated when we clicked the link to Eurofins, just needed to go to the port.

We have been told we are not entitled to a refund as it clearly stated all guest 2 - 17 required a negative PCR test 72 hours prior to boarding.  There is no discussion, nothing.  We are wrong and did not comply.  Yes, it did state that all guests needed a PCR test on 14 August email BUT Eurofins allowed us to believe it was not needed.   It did not state the same on our last email (extract above) dated 17 August, (not one mention of a PCR test for unvaccinated guests) which led us to believe all was ok.

We were never advised that they had not received a PCR  booking for my daughter,, or that any alternative arrangements been logged.  They would not believe there was ever a problem with the link provided by eurofins, despite protesting it makes no sense for me to book just my test and not my daughters.

Please beware and dont let what happened to us happen to you.  Check, check and recheck again.  Take screen shots of everything as once a link is clicked you cant go back to prove what came up.  Royal Caribbean are not interested, they will treat you like a leper, and will not engage in any form of discussion.  Appalling.

Oh and my daughters test at the port was negative!!

This is terrible, I'm so sorry this happened to you. What a disappointment. I can totally see how this happened and would probably had got it wrong too.

This actually made me think about our tests. On the email, it says 3 days, but I now see they mention 72h. We're booked 3 days before, 72h and 1/2h before. Could they be tell us we can't board for the sake of 30mns?

Reason for booking that time is work meetings and time available but will clearly have to work something out if they are going to say it makes the test void. Would call but tried 5 times about another issue, 1h in the line each time and never got someone to answer...

you are OK, we booked outside of the 72 hours and were fine for our 7th August cruise. When you book your time Eurofins only give you options that are valid for your cruise. Also I have seen this question being asked before and the answer is always anytime 3 days before, so if you depart on Saturday you can get tested anytime on Wednesday.

Thanks Smokey, I'm not going with Eurofins as too far, so arranged private but that's very reassuring.

Thank you BigRoger for sharing the Compass. Glad to see there are so many quizzes. We rarely do great in them as only two or three of us and we are no quizz masters, but we love them!

It’s an ouch $15 per person for a 15 minute journey……..

Would you mind looking if the Belfast Hop on/off bus has any stops within walking distance of the ship or will we need to use the shuttle bus to the centre. Thanks.

No the HOHO doesn’t come anywhere near the port apparently

What a shame, I thought that looking at the map but was hoping they may do some sort of add on to the port like they do in Dubai.

Am wondering if it is worth trying Uber?  Will they pick up at the port?

Do you know how far the titanic exhibition is from the ship?  is that walkable

Just got the Royal Up email offering me the chance to upgrade my room.  I booked a Balcony Guarantee and they are offering min bids of

Spacious ocean view £20pp

Jr Suite £130 pp

Grand Suite £330pp

Large Grand suite £360pp

Grand Suite 2 bedroom £550pp

I am tempted to bid on a spacious ocean view- least then I will hopefully not get a restricted view room, what do you think?
