CELEBRITY would have to pay ME to drink in my room.

I'm all seriousness I have no interest in drinking alcohol in the room, but I do like a lot of water in the room and two tiny bottles will be no where near enough.

I have booked the drinks and more package thinking that would take care of the requirement. Is there any way to have the mini bar alcohol swapped for non-alcoholic or will I just need to get a load of water from room service?

JUst ask the room attendant to clean the fridge out. I have done it in all the years i have sailed.  Pick up what you need at the bars around the ship and load up the fridge.

It may seem like a matter of semantics but "All Included" and "Always included" are not interchangeable terms (although they seem to be used interchangeably by many on these boards). What is "Always Included"? The "classic" beverage package (and all the terms and restrictions of that package), an internet access (and all the limitations of that internet "stream" that's included) and Gratuities.

You can upgrade the drinks package if you like but you will also be restricted by the limitations of the package you choose.

People who insist on interpreting what "Always Included" means as "All Inclusive" will be perpetually disappointed.

b - do you mean to say that one must read and understand T & C's before commenting or just come here to complain or interpret what it means to us or how X needs to interpret it (after all it is their marketing ideas), after a few premium drinks at home??? LOL

Cheers and bon voyage

.

Dear Captain Smith,

For over ten years, on Embarkation Day afternoons, we have asked our stateroom stewards to remove everything from the "minibars/refrigerators," so that we can use those appliances for keeping cool our (1) bottles of white wine and (2) fresh oranges [for 5 AM consumption daily].  There has never been the slightest objection to our requests.

Everything has been removed, each Embarkation Day, and placed in a cabinet or in a container, under a bed.  The stewards have then informed a fellow crew member (who comes around before disembarkation) not to charge us for anything.  This has even worked when we have had back-to-back cruises, without the refrigerator being re-stocked on the second Embarkation Day.

And the BEER snob checks in...:)

Actually, most any US Light beer is what I consider the perfect lawnmower beer, when it's 90 degrees and 80% humidity in the South...

I know it gets hot in Titusville.

Does anyone know the cost per day for each package?

Classic is 59.99

Premium is 69.99

Drinks and More is 76.99

Those prices are per person, per day and don't include taxes or the mandatory 18% gratuity.

You want to buy a whole case, or just a bottle or two?  You're also allowed to bring on 2 bottles of wine you'd like to drink.  And what year are you from Renton?

Those prices are for people who book a sailing without "ANYTHING" included.  Lots of fares can be booked as cruise fare only.  I'm on one, so I paid almost 1200 for our package.

And all gratuities are included no matter how you book your package.

If you purchase a beverage package there is a 20% gratuity added ( not 18%).

If you received as a booking perk or AI then the gratuity is included.  If you purchase the upgrade from Classic to Premium you will be charged $10 per day plus 20% gratuity= $12.

Thanks jelayne.. I thought it was 18.  Either way they tack it on.  Forgot to add that that only addresses drink gratuities.  We'll still have to pay the daily service charge gratuity separately.

But I already had to get the $65 upcharge to move from the included Classic to Premium. Are you telling me now I have to pay for the drink and the gratuity or just the gratuity?

The upcharge you paid included the gratuity.  You're good to go.  Any tips you choose to drop on the waiters or bartenders going forward is optional.

Do they frown upon drinking in the cabin?

I don't know if they frown on it, but they do like to monitor drinking to some extent. Not only do they want to keep folks from sharing with minors or those without a package, they also aren't fond of folks getting sloppy drunk (which usually leads to trouble). That's tough to do with a free minibar.

You and I might be responsible drinkers, but the bad apples have spoiled the bunch.

We like plenty of water too.  We'd just pick it up whenever passing a bar, and keep in the room.  (We get them to empty the minibar, and keep it in there.)

Remember too that the water that comes out of the taps on a cruise ship is perfectly drinkable too.
