So weird. Now my app says mine has shipped, but my husband's status is "pick up at port." Why would that happen, she wonders, scratching her head.

Wow.  That is interesting.  Didn't know it would tell you to pick up at port.  Learned something new today.  Thanks for sharing.  Unbelievable they can't get them shipped in a timely manner.    Have a fantastic cruise.

I was shipped one a year ago. I subsequently cancelled that cruise and went on another line.

I don’t know what I did with it now that I have just booked again. Should I ask for another one?

Medallions are cruise specific, so you have to get a new one.

When using the Princess App on my iphone and iPad, in My Profile, lower right corner of my photo, the Princess icon is blue and no status is listed. My Captain's Circle Level is Elite. My wife's My Profile is correct. We currently have 4 cruises booked.  I have called support multiple times in the last 8 days.  Yesterday, I tried to Live Chat with four different "navigators".  No one seems to be able to correct the issue or in some cases even recognize the issue. Based on Cruise Critic comments there seems to have been other passengers with the same problem as far back as last August, but I don't see any resolution(s) posted. Has anyone been able to get their profile updated or suggestions of what to try next?

Do not stress. They hold tables back knowing suites have free dinners coming. We always just get on board and call dine line and have always gotten what we want

That very same thing happened for our recent Panama Canal cruise.....the app kept saying nothing was available on the first night. We had NO PROBLEM getting the restaurant and time we wanted on the first night using the "suite freebie" (which is truly a sweet freebie) by simply calling the DINE LINE when we got on board.

Question: the medallions come via what sort of shipping: USPS (in the US), FedEx, UPS, DHL??? Expecting mine today for our July 7 cruise. Just curious.

We were getting them via FEDEX....this last set came via USPS....I held my breath not certain it would arrive....but it did!!!

Just to let you know that the app is now working (on final payment day) and we’re going to The Catch on embarkation day….menu sounds delicious.  Thanks for the help.

Quick Medallion question:  I have 4 cruises booked with Princess and only 3 show up on my app.  Is there a limit as to how many cruises the app will take?  I tried to add the missing cruise under the "Add Journey" but could not get it to work.  Any help would be appreciated.  FYI, I have an Samsung Android.

I have an even weirder situation . When using the app, it must have some residual information from a long cancelled booking because it says something about a cruise 118 days away.
My recently booked cruise is almost a year away.

Definitely a familiar problem. I had a cancelled cruise on my app for months and months....then after I get back from my last cruise it suddenly disappeared from my app.  Go figure!!!

Update:  Well, my voyage magically appeared in the app this morning.  Guess the system was just a little slow in transferring it to the app.

I have just booked a cruise in November, Caribbean Princess, that has the medallion button.

I see this is going to be an exercise in true frustration after having sifted through about a year of posts. Can't find what I am looking for, or see conflicting answers .... so a bunch of questions ...

Do I need to do anything at all with it? It looks like it is simply to open my cabin door and pick up drinks at the bar? (I have no interest in the fancy dining, nor shore excursions other than the beach days). Do I just pick it up when I board? Some say they ordered it online... from where? Do I have to lug my phone with me around the ship? Do I just carry it in my pocket? I have no interest in even a lanyard around my neck like Paddington.

I downloaded the app, but it doesn't recognize my booking number. I tried using the Chat for Customer Service,  that didn't work, then tried a phone and had a 45 minute wait. Neither a good sign.

I am with a group with their own dining arrangements, so as I remember from a few cruises 10+ years ago, you just walk up to the host to get seated, we have a set dining time. Is that correct?

Do they still have the excursion desk to make this a LOT easier?

Are formal nights pretty much the thing of the past other than nice clothes? My last three  never required jackets for men, just long sleeve shirts & a tie. With luggage sizes, I have no plans on taking a jacket, plus it's the Caribbean and hot, so rather uncomfortable to be decked out in formal stuff.

Appreciate any of the above to be cleared up!  This is MUCH different than when I last cruised. Not sure if this is worth it,,,,but too late.

Thanks!!

Don't mess with your booking number. Sign into the app and your cruise should be there - unless you just booked it.

Thanks, that is also an issue.... I can sign into the app, but all I get is the  "Ocean Ready" page asking for my personal info, there are no other links or button, or tabs to do anything else. That page then asks me to link my booking (thus the booking  #) and it simply says, "this booking number has already been claimed'.... so am I supposed to sign in on my laptop instead? I do get a "preferences" option, but that is for room configuration, food issues, etc.

My husband turns his phone off and leaves it in the room for the duration of the cruise. With his medallion, can he find my location from a large screen? Maybe located by the elevators? How does it work?

Yes

Those who travel with me don't need the tracking system......I'm found at just about any bar! The bartenders on Princess are among the finest. I appreciate that the pours become increasingly generous as the cruise progresses along! Ole! 😉

There can be as many as 14 or 15 different places on the ship to get a drink. That's pretty much a "treasure hunt". I have no issue with my wife being able to locate me with the app. Of course, so far, her phone has been a total piece of poo so the app didn't really work for her but I just got her a new phone (just like mine which means it's actually already old) which works really well with the app so she can now, if she likes, locate me anytime she likes if we aren't together. (Actually, she can also locate me when we are together but it's not necessary to use the app.) When we cruised with friends last year they gave me permission to locate them and it was quite handy. Like you, I find the bartenders friendly and attentive. On our last cruise one bartender remembered me from a prior cruise (I was nowhere near enough for his tablet to "find" and identify me) and welcomed me by name as well as remembering my preferred drink. I was terribly bummed when I found the casino had closed down a day early and I couldn't get my money out as he was one of the folks I had definitely intended to tip at the end of the cruise. (No, I'm not a "tip everybody in sight" or a "tips need to be massive amounts of cash" person but he was one of those who really went above and beyond and it grieved me to not be able to tip him. I did, however, mention him by name - glowingly - in the post-cruise survey.)

Hi all, new here and just have a simple basic question. When ordering something from the bar, do I just show my physical medallion? Or do I use the app on the phone? Any guidance on this manner, would be greatly appreciated at this time. Time.

Welcome to cruise critic!  All you need to do place the medallion over the scanner.  Staff may ask you to confirm your cabin number too.
