Thanks for sharing.  Too common for this to happen in the Misty Fjord area, too.  Hope they find survivors.

That’s probably why we were so slow coming back.  They said there was some kind of emergency ahead of us, and we did see coast guard out.

Per news reports, there is a signal, coming from 1400 feet, cloud ceiling is 900 feet, so they’re organizing a hiking crew to get up there.

 

 No idea what they’ll find, hoping for the best!

Check your spam folder, I'm on the 8/21 sailing and I received the email yesterday afternoon and it specifically says that proof of a negative covid test within 72 hours of embarkation will be required on all cruises starting with the 8/14 cruise.  It says no tests will be done at the port and those without proof of a negative test will be denied boarding.

Apparently Southeast Aviation out of Ketchikan, the operator of six (6) DeHavilland-Canada DHC-2 Beavers, the original version of the aircraft - not the up-engined turbo-prop Otters we see a lot in Juneau

Some chocolate covered strawberries were delivered compliments of the casino... those are some pretty expensive strawberries, but they were really good.
